You are a practising astrologer and a astrologer from ICAS

for last 7 years and yet you are asking the astrolgers here

whether you can become famous or not ? Strange man ?

This spoils the name of ur institution. The moderator

should not have allowed this msg to be approved.

Funny world.

Dear Balwantji,

I can relate to your frustration, believe me :-)

But consider this dear sir. This man opened his insecure and

uncertain soul publicly to all of us thousands. I am very far away

from where ICAS is or has an influence. I realize that it was started

by the illustrious B.V. Raman ji, but there was a time when Vikram

University was an ICON in India, as was Kashi Hindu Vishwavidhyalaya

(AKA BHU) and other institutions and organizations. Please note that

I do not say this lightly because I am a postgraduate from Maalviya

ji's beautiful university from a time when it was at its best! And

while it pains me and others what has become of our alma mater -- we

cannot go just by the instituitions. I am sure there will come a time

when Oxford or Harward, just like Nalanda and Takshasheela will be

icons from past!

I hope my message is not coming across as confrontational or

controversial for your good self or other many good selves here. I do

not even know what is required to become a member of the current ICAS

or what its contributions (currently) are. Perhaps the members of

this institutions can enlighten us.

In the mean time the query from 32 year old Pavankumar from Bombay

(Mumbai) remains unaddressed ... !

Dear Ashok, Namaskar

Second bhava shows speech. Astrological skills are seen in Navamsa. Best

of jyotishas must have one of Surya,Guru,Nodes in kona to Navamsa Lagna,

Karakaamsa. Thats the verdict of Parasara and Jaimini. You can analyze

the charts of Jyotishas to check this principle - it works.

Dear Ashok,

If I were to approach this, " Kaun Banegaa Jyotishi! " question, here

is what I would do:

a) Collect the horoscopes of a few dozens of astrologers after

defining what the parameters for someone being called an astrologer

are*.

b) (a) being the 'easy' step in the process, trust me, I would next

examine those from the point of what I have decided to consider as

the definition of an astrologer for this hypothetical study*.

The process is very simple, if carried out 'simply' without a lot of

emotions, anger and agendas getting in the way! If it is a sincere

and serious question to begin with!!

Rohiniranjan

* This is where we run into the problem! What constitutes

an 'astrologer'? Is it someone who just knows the lingo or is it

someone who has studied the discipline for a few years or decades and

has served the 'internship' as they say! Meaning: writing about

astrology, giving readings, clearing up doubts, and simply stated

treating it as a saadhanaa...

Astrology is NOT a perfect solution for knowing the mysteries of the

Universe, as it is falsely touted at times. Astrologers do not

necessarily limit themselves to pure astro-logic when they utilize

it. Many if not most and certainly not ALL astrologers utilize their

spiritual strength and practice when helping out an individual

through readings and advice. There is nothing wrong with that,

indeed, when someone comes to us for help, we must bring forth all

the abilities and all of our soul into helping such an individual!

That is not an expectation from us, it is a REQUIREMENT!

I still remember the simple and transparent words of one of the

greatest astrologers that we have been privileged to witness, read

about and words from -- which have educated, helped, even transformed

many of the astrologers around, " ...I take the horoscope when I go to

bed to sleep and as I look at it, I do japams as I begin to

understand and incorporate the chart ... " [PARAPHRASED].

When I read that, many many years ago, suddenly I realized that all

this fighting and tug-of-war as to whether astrology is a science or

whatever simply vanished!

ASTROLOGY IS A SERVICE AND THOSE WHO ARE BLESSED THROUGH THEIR PAST

GOOD ACTIONS AND LIFETIMES OF STUDY AND HARD WORK MUST NOT GET

DISTRACTED! SERVICE FIRST, THE REST OF THE DRAMA AND POLITICS CAN

WAIT!!

Dear Shri Rohinida,

It is long time to see your advice and harmonise the essence of Astrology as

service first and lattter any thing.

The Study of Planets with reference to Individulas and the suggestions made

should help the individual to understand the problems of life and means to

resolve.Being an absolute faith science some times a tendency is noticed to

question veracity of the predictions made and the Astrologers views

It is beyond doubts that all planets support human endeavours and give clues to

lead a balanced and meaningful life.It depends on what we really  want to pursue

by study of Astrology

So it is beyond doubt that any body can become an Astrologer if intends

seriously and understand various issues connected with this study.

Dear Krishnanji,

Nice to hear your voice after such a long time!

You are right and I consider myself the living example of that!

I never *needed* to be drawn to astrology or become an astrologer! I

wanted to and here I am!

Not bragging or thumbing my nose! Just making a POINT, as always and

will continue to as long as I live!

Dear Shri Rohini ji,

This is true as you have put it in right terms.Even late B.V.Raman's wife Smt

rajeswari Devi has also worked to such an extent that she enjoys a place of

prominence in the field of Astrology.we have many case including several other

people who showed grit and determination to serve in the field. For all such

personalities God's benevolance and palnetary support eas readily available.Only

thing we need to do apost mortem of the horoscopes for our academic interest and

fit into our idealogy.

Dear Mr. Nair,

If memory serves me rightly, there are research articles on the

www.astrodb.com site which have examined the combinations for

astrologers and for vedic astrologers and so on.

I hope those who are researching this very interesting topic get a

chance to study what has already been explored and written.

Hare rama krishna

dear RR ji

Atleast i dont hav any doubts abt astrologers combinations which we

already discussed in many grps .And i hav my own ways to see it and some

are vedic methds and some r nadi based ,so i was not asking u to help me

..( i hav combinations also to not to whom we shud teach astro and any

sacred subjucts ,but this days its irrelevent as no one consider it as

no more sacred ) they just shout or command u to giv predictions or

lessons and even if they come to ask u questions it will b more like a

demanding tone than a respectful request ,and as astrologer ,we shud not

hav self respect ,and not even a thank note or future feed backs .

But in this grp this discussion pop up and its not dying out ,so u also

come out with a proposal to see it tru the charts of famous astrologers

,so i was helping u to see it tru charts which u already written .also

thought other members if interested may participate atleast by supplying

more charts ,as i blv this is a discussion forum too .

if u hav some articles post it for others to learn offcource with grp

moderaters permission .or u can post links tho i dont blv most of those

write up s.As most of those writing r like wat u say abt relocations

astrology and other claims .( i agree with u ) even many so called

modern writers twists datas to suit their claims and there is no

consistant approach and replicable approach avilable .

As i thought u may b able to guide those ppl as a senior most person

..other wise I dont blv in simply passing comments or juggling with

bombastic words ,my approach is direct and simple or i will strght away

say i will not disclose it .

hope i am clear abt myself

Ps --if next mail is not subjuct based let us stop here and let the grp

move on with it usual way .

* This is where we run into the problem! What constitutes

an 'astrologer' ?

" [PARAPHRASED] .

When I read that, many many years ago, suddenly I realized that all

this fighting and tug-of-war as to whether astrology is a science or

whatever simply vanished!
