Guest guest
The TV and Radio has been full of this recent worldwide (GLOBAL) scare that there is going to be worldwide food shortage (famine?) in the next decade or two. With mounting energy costs, the concern has been primarily arising due to what reporters insist is due to the changing of food habits worldwide. Heavily populated nations such as India and China are beginning to embrace meat and meat products in larger numbers and this has increased the worldwide demand on cattle farming (most of which would be of little use in India because it shuns beef -- I hope?) and the cattle need certain grains which will go to them rather than humans and so the plot thickens! What is the take of this august group on this new wrinkle? Should we be worried about this and begin to stock up on grains and other food staples as seems to have been occurring in North America (I wonder who is doing the stocking up?) or should we be focusing more on global warming or should we be just going around -- business as usual? Whatever that means to the forum memebers individually! Prem, Prakash, Prashanti ... RR
Guest guest
Hare rama krishna dear RR ji Thanxs for coming up with a diffrnt subjuct . Now a days all astrologers lost their interest in Mundane astrology or political astrology .U know the reason s .Also most of the ppl become too much self centred ,so dont care what is happening to other person and they r least bothered abt it too unless he personaly feels the loss or diffrnce .till he dont bother andby the time its too late .This has given care free attitude to policy makers and multi nationals and power brokers ,Many times in prvt interaction i try to discuss potential denagers but many thinks if i discuss abt food i am a farmer and that is y i am concenred abt it. since 1990s the world has changed its directions to a new order and india ,china many 3rd word nations strted taking care more industrial devlment than agricultural devlpment and ppls welfare . so this sector was discarded for industrial growth and in india u can see undue importance they giv to IT and related services and all excemptions are going for those sectors ,and asked farmers to take care of them selvs, where as all policies of govtment were against them ,they never gets right price .Always has to compete with world prices which is controlld by MNC and they can manipulate everything . Also MNC and local leading business houses also strted concentrating in retail sector and they r also hoarding and pushing the prices further up with more facilities and liquid cash in hand . Also now new cash cropes r evolving ( like growing of spl pototoes for chips industry and finger chips ) also some bio energy farming replaced normal agriculture and world energy prises growing up and US was pressuring 3r world countries to shelve any subsidise on agricultural sector and were as they r continuing it and in west agriculture means also a business of some big companies were as in asian and afrikan countries its a part of their way of life . and neo intellectuals are worried abt only share market index and political clowns are showing un usual growth in this gambling sector as indicater of growth and the funny thing is many harward educated with gilt edged certificates .The interest rates has reduced and many small scale business has closed and no way u can invest and win in new atmosphere so all money is going to share market which systematicaly looted by big sharks . Also this boom in IT sector ( if u compare its pea nuts in frnd of agriculture sector which u r discarding ) conributed to property boom ( again its instigated and artificial ) and land also becoming a business commodity than a its natural use . other trsnits and dasa influences of various countries may be surely contributin it almost 20 yrs neglect i dont know how any govtment can rectify it and most of the agricultural families r in deep debts too . so the future i dont think its good . also This yr summer rains in india already destroyed 40% of the crops tho the crops are showing bumber harvest .And food prices has gone up many fold and still if u no farmer is benefiting . simhasta sani+ketu and aspect of jup was only adding fire than pacifying it as he was also bombarded by mars and ketu Moreover since its natural 9th house --he can only be dharmik and sani +ketu in natural 5th house ( merits of past ) ,so merits or demerits of past need to rectified and changed to merits of present life ( 9th house ) again its wat is bhagya stana ,its wat may be jupiter wants my 2cs regrds sunil nair om shreem mahalaxmai namah . , " Rohiniranjan " <rohini_ranjan wrote: > > The TV and Radio has been full of this recent worldwide (GLOBAL) > scare that there is going to be worldwide food shortage (famine?) in > the next decade or two. > > With mounting energy costs, the concern has been primarily arising > due to what reporters insist is due to the changing of food habits > worldwide.
