Guest guest
Dear Members, Can anyone guide me to the number of commentaries on Jamini, for I am interested to study and tabulate the differences between them. I have till date three commentaries - 1) Sri K.N. Rao's book on Jamini 2) Suryanarayana Rao's commentary on Jamini 3) Sanjay Rath's version If somebody can help in sharing the publishers of other commentaries, I shall be grateful. with regards, Sreeram_Srinivas
Guest guest
Dear Sirs, i wil not be able to contribute here. Just recently i purchased some books, once again after gap of many years on Jamini, to check what has been discovered or learnt by the new generation of authors. But instead of finding discoveries in these books written by the well known Internet Forum astrologers, I found fat books costing good money, with contributions from various authors, all compiled together, and made a book , and sold in the bazaar for, as I said good money. None sane person can learn the method of jamini astrology approach through these books.Any day P.S. Sastri and others of his time were better than these so called Masters of jamini today. There is lot of talk on various divisional charts, but no clear cut method delineated, as how to see through these charts, and no references given for the new additions and interpolations amde by these authors. I am disgusted by the most of the Fixing astrologers in the Jamini approach, looting people today, in name of astrology. I btter not talk further on this. kind regards, Bhaskar. , " sreeram srinivas " <sreeram64 wrote: > > > Dear Members, > > Can anyone guide me to the number of commentaries on Jamini, for I am > interested to study and tabulate the differences between them. > > I have till date three commentaries - > > 1) Sri K.N. Guest guest
Hare rama krishna dear sreenivas ji and respected bhaskar ji . All this neo schools are hoax and parasara says may be claculate in one way for his dasas and and jaimini may be took diffrnt for his own favrite dasas and neo schools to prov their arguements they mix and overlook their own creativ theories. Many old andra pundits and may be still some families succsfully using jaimini and why not those who sits in net and search in google students cant go there and search it i dont know .Every day i am also getting this kind of can u clear my doubts questions and knowledge to be shared advise to me too . even they cant buy books ,asking for soft copies in net and then asking doubts on it . In last few days i got lot of tension frm these knowledge seekers and prediction seekers .Asking doubts means as if they know everything ,generaly discussion can happen only between eqauls ,they forget these too . so srinivasji shud better consult those ppl frm andra pradesh who is i think real originater of Jaimini system.Or may be they r linked to rishi jaimini . regrds sunil nair om shreem mahalaxmai namah . , " Bhaskar " <rajiventerprises wrote: > > Dear Sirs, > > i wil not be able to contribute here. > Just recently i purchased some books, > once again after gap of many years > on Jamini, to check what has been > discovered or learnt by the new > generation of authors. > > But instead of finding discoveries in > these books written by the well known > Internet Forum astrologers, I found > fat books costing good money, with > contributions from various authors, all > compiled together, and made a book , > and sold in the bazaar for, as > I said good money. Guest guest
Dear Srinivas KN Rao has not written any commenty per se on Jaimini Sutram. However, he has written some books on Jaimini Dashas, such as on Chara Dasha and Mandook Dasha and some books on various jaimini Dashas have also been written under his guidance. In addition to what you have mentioned, there are two more commentries available to my knowledge: (1) by PS Sastry and (2) by Irangati Rangacharya. You can go through them but What Sanjayji has written no one explained Jaimini sutram better than him. I would advise you to go through all available literature but for authenticity stick to Sanjayji's version. Guest guest
Namaste Srinivas, I would suggest the following in addition to the reply by Razen. There are not many translation/ commentaries on Jaimini sutram, but there are a no. of Sanskrit manuscripts. There is one commentary in Telugu (A south Indian language by Sri Kambhampati Rama Gopla Murthy). If you can visit Madras Oriental Library at Chennai University, you can find a no. of Telugu commentaries in manuscript form. I personally visited there and found one rare treatise named " Phala Ratnamala " by Somanatha Misra in printed form. Of course, the book is in very bad condition. In fact this is only Jaimini treatise which talks about Transits in Jaimini method. Now a days nobody can claim authenticity on Jaimini Sutram, since a no. of commentaries were lost. But, Sanjay Ji's book is very well written and explains the concepts in a very logical manner. But, in my humble opinion, I would say we must read the commentary by Sri Iranganti Rangacharya to learn about the ancient commentaries. This is the only commentary which gives the sanskrit verses from Phala Ratnamala, Sutrartha Prakasika, and Jataka Sara Sangraha. This is all what I could add to the reply by Razen. Of course, you would do well to visit the www.mindsutra.com to learn some other concepts on Jaimini Astrology. In particular, I recommend the Chara Dasa (Raghava Bhatta - Nrisimha Suri method), which gave me considerable success in timing events and it was wonderfully explained in the above web page. regards, Shanmukha

Guest guest
Namaste Srinivas, Yes, there were a no. of Commentaries available and most of them were lost now. If I remeber correct, Sri B.V.Raman went on record in his Astological magazine that Sri Vemuri Rama Murthy, A Great Jaimini Scholor, told him that more than 40 commnetaries rescued by him. All the commentaries were lost since Sri Vemuri's house catched fire. I list out below the old treatises, though the list is not complete. 1.Commentary by Neelakantha (Most of now available commentaries are based on this) 2.Phala Ratna mala by Somanatha Misra 3.Kalpa Latha by Krishna Misra 4.Jataka Rajiya 5.Jataka Sara Sangraha by Raghava Bhatta 6.Sutrartha Prakasika by Nrisimha Suri 7.Vanchanaathiyam 8.Brihspatiya Samhita (A combination of Parasari and Jaimini) 9. Commetaries by Prem Nithi Pandits 10. Jataka Narayaneeyam by Vadrevu Suryanaraya Murthy (Now available in telugu edition, originally published in 1940's) Hence, in total we find not more than ten commetaries showing much less than the claim by Sri Vemuri Sastry.
