For instance in Maharashtra itself in places like Bombay,Pune,Nasik, Jalgaon,Sholapur,Ratnagiri,Goa etc. Pooja for new Year can be commenced today itself, that is Sunday, the 6th April 2008. Guest guest Posted April 6, 2008 Report Share Posted April 6, 2008 sir, i was also thinking same becoz as per dharm sindhu which tithi is Udit on sunrise time taken for whole day, and to day panchaka also till 9:26pm so any shubh karya is varjit in this, as to day no pratipada, as per shastra if pratipada is kshya then vrat or puza and kalash prtishthapan will be on dwitiya. Pratipada is kshaya in Mumbai, so no problem here, if one does Pooja, and sthapna etc.due to Sunrise being late. But otherwise, as You said........ It all depends on ending time of Pratipada and what tithi is on at time of sunrise, rightly mentioned by you, depending on Your Location. Which is what is creating 2 Gudipadvas in Maharastra this time.
