Guest guest
Dear Rohiniranjan ji, Read the piece. And felt so sad. Fantastic narrative capabilities are being wasted. You could be such a powerful writer of pre-independent Indian scene. Most of us in our sixties have such a romantic attachment to the era you talk about. The local flavor in your writings reminds me of Phaneeswar Nath Renu, the well known Hindi novelist who wrote so well about the pre- independence Bihar. Have read any of John Master's series on India? The life and the escapades of the Savage family? You could create your Savage. I know you are more capable than John Masters Do not waste your time and energy in these forums. You know that you can write fantastic narratives. I could see and hear Mishra ji on his Hercules bicycle. Sit down and write some thing that will go down the centuries and still be fresh and entertaining. Sincerely, Girish Raheja , " Rohiniranjan " <rohini_ranjan wrote: > > if you are interested in reading this ... > > > http://www.boloji.com/astro/00351.htm >
Guest guest
Dear Girish ji, Thanks for your candid and wise sharing, truly! Where Jyotish is concerned, your kind directive -- " ...write some thing that will go down the centuries and still be fresh... " is noted but I think a lot has been written along those lines already! That is why some of us study scriptures even as we keep demanding for that ultimate novel or podcast or MP3 that will suddenly turn us effortlessly into jyotishis or those who understand jyotish and turn humans into teachers, spiritual or otherwise! Writers galore, have always been and so on, but how does one get the OTHERS to sit down and READ? And I am not talking novels and reminiscences if that is all earlier writings were misread glossingly as!! RR , " girish_raheja " <girish_raheja wrote: > > Dear Rohiniranjan ji, > > Read the piece. Guest guest
Very dear Rohiniranjan ji, So long as the honey is sweet, bees would rush to it. You need not bother about 'others', they can't resist reading what you write. But I know you will never take to writing novels or short stories because you are just 'incorrigible' LOL. Regards, Girish Raheja , " Rohiniranjan " <rohini_ranjan wrote: > > Dear Girish ji, > > Thanks for your candid and wise sharing, truly! > > Where Jyotish is concerned, your kind directive -- " ...write some > thing that will go down the centuries and still be fresh... Guest guest
To the eloquent RR, " All that we are is the result of what we have thought: It is founded in your thoughts, it is made up of our thoughts. If a man speaks or acts with a evil thought pain follows him, as the wheel that follows the foot of the ox that draws the carriage " . " All that we are is the result of what we have thought: It is founded in your thoughts, it is made up of our thoughts. If a man speaks or acts with a pure thought, happiness follows him like a shadow that never leaves him " . ( Taken from dhammapada, the essential teachings of Buddha). Regards, Manasa.
Guest guest
;-) I just do my bit of social work by shaking the loose teeth a bit, just to help the dentist that follows!
