All,

Thank you to those who participated in the quiz. It is however a

shame that more of the experienced members, who are keen to propagate

the authenticity and excellence of their chosen methods have shied

away. Maybe there exists a degree of insecurity that prevents

involvement – but these same people are prolific in philosophical

debate which is of little use if there is no practical applicability.

This was a tough quiz in that delineating the event would have

required a rigorous analysis and even then the event was not typical,

for example marriage or promotion. For this reason, in light of the

discussions on methodologies, it would have been interesting to gain

an insight and learn the techniques involved in practical

applications. I stress once more that this quiz was extremely

difficult and the participants' attempts are very much appreciated.

The main goal was to learn, not to `win'.

1. Surya Tyagi: Positive development to family.

Method: Rasi alone

2. Prashantji (GB): Major accident, injury involving air.

Method: Rasi, transit – Raman ayamsha

3. Kaustubhji: Huge money – lottery or speculation.

Method: Prashna

4. Anupji: Murder-fatal accident (marriage delay).

Method: Rasi (?)

5. Prashantji (2) Yup I can tell: Loss of mother.

Method: rasi, transit, lagna dasha, D-12, ATP chart

6. Amitji: Died in accident

Method: (unknown)

7. Asstrollger: `Simple case of marriage.

Method: Nakshatra, murutha

8. Sumitji: Education success/fathers ill health.

Method: Rasi/transit

9. Rameshji: Failed marriage attempt, loss of father.

Method: Unknown

Profile of Native : The native is a female, lives abroad, is married

(happily for nearly three years), has no children as of yet but is

pregnant and has had thus far has an average education. Her father

and mother both still live, although her father has had serious life

threatening brain surgery. However this was in the distant past.

The event that took place on the evening 13 May:

After a series of explosive disputes, the native left the home of her

in-laws (with her husband). The added significance of this event is

that she is pregnant (due soon); and that she has had to move into

rented accommodation without family support. Therefore the event

should be apparent in her chart.

Prashantji (yup_i_can_tell) has come the closest, predicting loss of

mother and ruling out any positive event. Conceptually, in terms of

pinpointing the 4th house issues of home and mother this is extremely

close, especially as this is not clear from the standalone rasi

chart. In fact much of the separation was caused by the mother. I

would like to congratulate him and I follow much the same line of

methodology, especially the ATP.

This native had come to me last year, and on the basis of the ATP I

had advised her to stay positive in her relations with her mother-in-

law and keep an eye on her health. A strong parivartan yoga almost

always leads to a significant event. I stress once again that the

rasi must support the indications, and for further confidence the

dasha lagna and divisional should be referred to.

My analysis was as follows:

I have found the Annual Tithi Pravesha charts to be excellent in

getting an overview for events for the coming year. My approach is to

always check this chart first, and refer back to the rasi and

appropriate divisional for confirmation of an event. Please note that

I am not promoting any school, but this is what I have found to be

the most efficient method in my humble experiences.

Note that the ATP chart shows strong parivartna yoga between the 4th

and 12th houses. Mars and Moon are the respective lords involved.

This clearly indicates separation from home/mother and due to the

involvement of Mars and Saturn in the exchange; it can be interpreted

that the separation will be unpleasant.

Referring back to the rasi, note the powerful aspect of exalted 8th

lord Saturn on the 12th house from the 4th lord (Mercury). The bhavat

bhavam principle is an extremely powerful tool in this context.

Rotating the charts to make Saturn the lagna (dasha lagna), Virgo,

the 4th house from normal lagna shifts to house 12, while Capricorn,

4th house in normal lagna shifts to house 8. Also note the strong

influence on the 12th from the 4th (the 3rd house). Ketu is placed in

3rd, while the Sun, Mars (as marak lord) and Rahu all aspect the 3rd

house.

In general I use the dasha lagna for clearer indication of events

(this can be extended to divisional charts too).

I emphasise that this is a backward analysis beginning from the ATP

chart, and such indications would be difficult to pick up without

prior viewing of the ATP chart and then referring back to the rasi. D-

4 and D-12 also support the above indications.

Jyoitsh has an array of techniques and methods; all with their

respective merits and it has been an interesting learning experience

to see how they are applied.

I welcome comments and thanks to all that participated.

I forgot to add that this chart also provides some support for the

concept of retrograde planets 'behaving' as if they are in the prior

house. Saturn would be L8 in the H4 in Rasi, while from dasha lagna

it would be L4 in the H12. I have not applied this concept

extensively, but it may carry some weight in the context of this

chart.

Dear AG,

Though the question was typical but has the essence of some sort of pinpoint

event.

Well in another forum, a question was also posted which had resemblance to

this one.

Even there, there were futile attempts by all " learners " and nobody cld

attempt to the perfection.

The question was raised also there by some seniors that we were finding

precise event on the basis of a given date , having 24 hrs means " Approximate

data " .???

Anyway we all are learning .These events also claim attention besides those

typical events

we used to follow and answer.

Regards

Anup

would like to congratulate him and I follow much the same line of

methodology, especially the ATP.

Anupji,

I was not expecting a perfect response, the aim was to get close to

the correct significations/houses (which one member manages), which

would have been an excellent feat considering the non-typical nature

of the event.

My main point is that this was a big turning point in the natives

life and should be possible, within the parameters of jyotish to

deduce. The necessity of an exact time for the event was not

pertinent due to the significance of the event, and when giving a

prediction only the brilliant Jyotishis are able to provide an exact

time: at best a month or weeks timeframe is indicated. An exact time

may only benefit those going deeper than the prayantar-dasha levels

and using the higher divisionals. Even then the day of an event is

given rather than an exact time. Let us not forget that Prashantji

(2) was extremely close to the answer.

Either way this has been an invaluable learning opportunity. Thank

you for your comments!
