Hi...

I think this same question was answered a while ago on this list. Go to the

sidereal site and do a search for " Jyotish. " If you don't find the

information you want, then someone here will try to give you some details.

Both Western sidereal and Jyotish use the sidereal zodiac, but the ayanamsa

is different. The Western sidereal positions of the planets are about a

degree less than the main ayanamsas (Lahiri and Krishnamaurti) used in

Jyotish.

(Jyotish was never 'Vedic,' so I don't use that term.)

Did you try a web search for Chiron? I don't use Chiron and I don't know

any sidereal or Jyotish astrologers who use it either.

Sincerely,

Therese

Greetings all. I just joined the group today and i've been enjoying

reading some of the informative posts.

I'm an amateur (at present) astrologer from Chicago. I've been

studying astrology since i was 16 (that's 7 years now) but just began

reading sidereally about last feb. It has completely changed the way

i read! Quite simply, it's accurate. I think it's a shame how many

very gifted practitioners are still operating under a fundementally

flawed system. It's really a testament to them that they get

anything right at all.

Anyway, i do have a couple questions to pose. First, how does western

sidereal astrology compare to jyotish? I know vedic astrology uses

the sideral scope as well, but are there differences in interpretation

and application?

And also, can anyone find any halfway decent information about chiron

aspects and transits on the web?

Have a blessed day everyone

Dear distant friends and the distinguished members,

My name is Hikaru, and I am very glad to have joined the group.

I am very new to the world of Jyotish, and I humbly would like to share

my thoughts and my chart Information for the use for the futhering of

the study of Jotish. I have had the fortune of my chart being rectified

by Sanjay JI last year.

There are three things prominent in my chart: 1. I am in the Shani

mahadasha 2. I am about to enter Sade Sati beginning on July 15, 2007

3. (According to Sanjay Ji and Visti Ji)I have Kala Amrita Yoga.

I hope you all would be so kind to be patient with me for sharing my

thoughts, etc. (I am sure that you can tell from my chart that my mind

wanders in the pool of imagination.)

I have been in the world of arts (visual/music/writing/dancing) all my

life. So, as a visual artist who loves mythology, I tend to visualize

the scene or the theme. When I've learned about K/A Yoga, the first

thing I visualized was the severed head and the body of Rahu/Ketu.

Knowing that these two are the two nodes, therefore they are naturally

separated, I imagined what would it be like for them to be restored

back to its original form just as King Vikrami's hands and feet are

restored.

Then I remembered about the 'astronomical' divisions of the universe

having 13 constellations instead of the 12. Interesting enough, my

birthday falls on December 4th, right in the middle of this '13'th

constellation, Ophiuchus-Aesculapius, the serpent holder. Now,

Aesculapius is a Greek god of Healing. Can this constellation and /or

the time period be the clue to the healing of Kala Sarpa / Kala Amrita

Yoga (by healing/holding the severed bodies) ? Also, Aesculapius was

killed by Zeus/Jupiter for resurrecting the dead. This also reminded me

of the power of Shukra, Sanjivini Vidya (of Lord Shiva), that which

resurrected the dead Asuras. Shukra is the Lord of Tula (which happens

to be my Ascendant). According to Visti Ji, one of the nature of Tula

is to bring the light to the darkness. Can either Tula and/or Shukra

nature be the clue to the healing of KA/KS Yoga by bringing the light?

One last image is that Ophiuchus is stepping on the scorpion, Vrischik.

This image of a being holding the serpent stepping on the earth bound

scorpion, lead me to the image of the Churning of the Divine Milk, when

I replaced the image of man to the mountain and a scorpion to Kurma,

the divine turtle.

I have no idea, from pure Jyotish point of view, if this sort of

imagination makes any sense or be benefit to healing, but I wanted to

share the image with all of you.

Since I have not yet entered the Sade Sati, I would like to offer this

7.5 years of my Sade Sati experience for the benefit of the Jyotish

studies of the effects of Sade Sati, so that other people who share the

challeges and trials of Sade Sati can be eased and healed. In other

words, I welcome any questions and thoughts regarding my life

situation, my mind, my health, my feeling, etc. during this period(from

the day one).

Thank you so much for your patience with me. I trust that the Divine

shall be gracious to all of us.

Here are my birth data: December 4th, 1961

04:09:40 JST(rectified time)

Odawara, Japan

139E10'00 35N15'00

May you all be blessed!

Sicerely,

Hikaru
