The situation is as follows: * There is conjunction between Sun and Mercury, and the latter is somewhat combusted (the difference between degrees being around eight to ten degrees). * The native was prescribed high-quality Emerald. * The native started experiencing good results after wearing Emerald as he is running Mercury Mahadasha. * He has four planets in lagna(Taurus)--Mercury, Mars, Sun and Rahu (Rahu being just at one degree and Sun 18 degrees). * The native is running Mercury Mahadasha. My question is can the native wear Ruby to negate the effects of Mars? Would it not diminish the good effects of Emerald because if you make Sun stronger, it would again start combusting Mercury. May not be in conformity with others. Next- there is a term known as " Cazimi " which denotes any planet within 17 Degrees of the Sun and said to be in the heart of Sun, and well fortified. Your Query about wearing Ruby- Ruby represents Sun and the 4th house in this Birth Chart. How would the Ruby be connected with the combustion of Mercury ? No way. That was past - Bhoot kaal. we shall talk of today. and also of tomorrow - together. Ruby when worn would give positive results of the 4th house, and therefore better domestic happiness and peace at home. If we go by Your theory that it will intensify Sun more and cause trouble to mercury, I agree that Yes it will increase power of Sun, but i do not agree that it would cause problem to mercury. Mercury is sitting in lap (Heart) of Sun and Sun is the Father of all Planets, the Solar system, the topmost Planet, so if we increase its power then it will increase more security to mercury then what one thinks otherwise. Let the native wear Ruby and do not think for a moment that it is not proper. I consider conjunction only between 4 degrees, by the way.
