Kaalsarp Yoga

Rahu and Ketu are always move in a retrograde direction with respect to all

other planets.

 

Kaalsarp dosha only occurs if all planets are positioned between Rahu and Ketu.

Rahu being the head and Ketu being the tail, the planets are presumably moving

into the serpent's mouth. Hence the name of Kaalsarp Yoga.

 

In the other case, when all planets are between Ketu and Rahu, there is no

Kaalsarp Yoga. In this case the planets are moving towards the serpent's tail.

 

The effect of this combination are as adverse. However, the chart has to be

judged in its totality.

Dear Amitabh,

I read this and thought I could ask you a question. Does the kaalsarp yoga

exist even if ketu forms the head and rahu the tail? In my horoscope ketu is

retrograde in the 2nd house and rahu is in the 8th, with all the planets placed

from 9th to 1st house.

Hope you do not think it is presumptious of me to ask you this question. If it

is, and I offend you in any way, please ignore this mail.

Dear Rajendra,

 

Yes, there is a very prominent Kaalsarp Yoga in your chart. But not to worry, as

per texts, its effect is supposed to have been over by this age.

 

Though both the heavy weights, Jupiter and Saturn are exalted, in 10th and 1st

resepctively, you have not been able to earn their good results. Moon in the

10th is also afflicted, being in the constellation of Ketu.

 

Daily prayers to the Isht Devta (Narayana) would help.
