Guest guest
Announcing New Group: How to Study Jyotish-Astrology Jyotish_Astrology_Newsletter/ Dearest Friends: This morning I had the most amazing dream. It was discovered through some strange secession of events that I was worth over 1 trillion dollars! The dream continued with what I would do if I had all the money imaginable. One of the first ideas that came to me was to get rid of all the pollution causing automobiles in the World! he he Then, there were all the customary problems that come with wealth. Later, I created businesses and enterprises to do the many things one might imagine one could do if you had all the money you could possibly desire. Fairly soon in the dream was I found myself thinking: What would I do if I had all the money in the world. That's when I returned to my original dream of making this great Jyotish & Astrology knowledge available to as many people as possible. When I got up and realized all that money wasn & rsquo;t quite mine yet! he he, it was still quite a comfort to realize I was already doing what I would do if I had all the money in the world!. The 2nd substantial idea I came up with this morning was to start a new group for all those seriously interested in learning Astrology. Therefore, I & rsquo;d like to warmly invite you all to join this latest group. I & rsquo;m going to charge a minimum $ 20.00 for joining this group to help raise money for our emerging Jyotish business. However, if you & rsquo;re sincere about learning and finances are tight then anyone can join for a minimum $ 5.00. However, I have one stipulation. As soon as your study of Jyotish increases your financial outlooks, then come back and finish with this minimum financial contribution. Now, that we have this out of the way; let & rsquo;s discuss an Overview about the most important aspects of Jyotish or Astrology that we all need to study. Whether you & rsquo;re completely new to Astrology or have a medium or even advanced level of understanding the first most significant and fundamental quality of Jyotish/Astrology is that our chart & rsquo;s fit us. & ldquo; Our Charts Fit Us & rdquo; This is by far the most significant and important principle in Astrology. Even if you have only studied Western Astrology, Eastern Jyotish or even Chinese Astrology the most important idea is that the symbolisms of Astrology fit us. All of us, then, are on a path of discovering this fundamental 1 to 1 correspondence. When you study your chart now, begin a new & ldquo; My Chart Fits Me & rdquo; journal or notebook. Next, even before you continue or start with your study make a list of everything that you already know about yourself. I like to call this the Personality Profile. In previous Astrology courses I & rsquo;ve taught I & rsquo;ve used this idea of first writing down everything you already know about yourself. This gives you a beginning & lsquo;template & rsquo; of true understanding that you will build on as you continue your Astrology study. Because this principle of & ldquo; Our Charts Fit Us & rdquo; is really just an ever expanding insight or awareness as to whom you are. My first suggestion is write down a list of the 20, 30 or 50 things that you know about yourself. At the end of this announcement, invitation I & rsquo;ll write down a sample Personality for you. The next step in our Astrology project here is to decide what level of Jyotish study you & rsquo;re beginning with. If you know nothing really about Jyotish or would like to begin with the & lsquo;Beginning & rsquo; then join the Beginners group. If you know a fair to midland amount of Jyotish already then start with the Medium Group. If you know already quite a bit of Jyotish and you can find the Astrological reason for every aspect of your life; then join the Advanced group. Even if you & rsquo;re already Advanced in your study you can gain from joining this group because you can get involved in helping other people learn their Astrology as well. Also, 99% of the people I & rsquo;ve talked to who already have an advanced amount of Jyotish knowledge still haven & rsquo;t learned how to change their stars which is the 2nd most important part of true Jyotish or Astrological knowledge. Now, only is our Astrology there to help us know who we are but our Astrology is truly there to also help us evolve. Our lives are not just about living a pre-conceived, pre-determined, fatalistic or pre-conditioned reality. We & rsquo;re starting with some beginning and that has been pre-determined. But, contained within that beginning is the true hope and wish to become more. Astrology is a lot like planting a seed. When we take a seed we begin the life of this tree with certain pre-created conditions. This seed has to be an apple, orange or guava tree. In other words once we & rsquo;ve planted this seed we & rsquo;re going to get an apple tree! Our charts represent our initial birth seed. What we & rsquo;re starting out with is the direct result of all the details of our birth chart. That & rsquo;s our initial seed. However, after we & rsquo;ve planted that seed, we just don & rsquo;t leave it for that poor tree to grow up on its own. We, in fact do whatever we can to make that tree grow up into the strongest, most powerful and successful tree possible! So, it is with us. We are a seed from the past. We & rsquo;re coming in with a specific & lsquo;seed & rsquo; of Astrological conditionings. These are the qualities and characteristics of our seed. We have strengths and we have weaknesses. However, unlike the physical trees that can & rsquo;t from their own side work to improve their lives; we can! Therefore the most important aspect of 2nd principle of Jyotish is self-improvement or self-development. You are probably aware of Jyotish & rsquo;s idea of Remedial Measures or Remedies. There is a long history and precedence in Vedic Astrology to look to specific and important things we can do to literally strengthen any planet or neutralize or balance any negative situation, karma, Dasa or Transit period in our lives. So, in addition to learning our charts, how our charts fit us we & rsquo;ll also begin immediately learning how to apply any number of positive and uplifting Jyotish or life-remedies and remedial measures which will go to the heart of strengthening and improving our life & lsquo;seeds & rsquo; or charts! Jyotish or Astrological knowledge by the way is itself the #1 Jyotish or Astrological remedy that we can begin with. There is an amazing improvement that will immediately come to you as you learn your Astrology. This is because the very act of learning how your chart fits you immediately creates within you a powerful and life-changing aha or voila or eureka, wow; or however you want to say it that will self-empower and completely change your life. This is because self-knowledge is the great aphrodisiac in the entire world. As you know your Self you gain power to live and to direct that life. In the West one of the most fundamental of ideas; stemming from the ancient Greeks was the idea from the Greek Oracle: & ldquo;Know Thyself & rdquo;. I was just writing about this last night and the entire idea was: & ldquo;Know thyself - and thou shall know all the mysteries of the gods and of the universe. & rdquo; This is an even more important idea. Because in discovering who you are you will gain the organizing and practical skills to do and accomplish whatever you want in this life. & ldquo; To know the mysteries of the gods and of the universe & rdquo;, in ancient times meant you could accomplish anything! So, we need to inject this old notion back into Jyotish & Astrology. As we grow in self-knowledge we will automatically gain more practical mastery over the world. Though we may first want to start with increasing power and mastery over ourselves, even our own bodies, and minds, emotions and intellects; very soon however, we & rsquo;ll even be able to move the world! What a miraculous seed it is that we are. Not only are we meant to be an apple, orange or guava tree we are the kind of tree that has the highest of life & rsquo;s possibilities. If you connect Jyotish with all the other limbs of the Veda, or sciences of Vedic Knowledge Jyotish becomes a tool for the unfoldment of the full potential of human life. I was very fortunate when I came to study Jyotish, (over 19 years ago now), I came already from a Vedic self-improvement background of 18 years of Vedic study of meditation, Ayurveda, and Yoga. When you come from this direction you find yourself already believing in the principle of self-development. All these other aspects of Vedic knowledge are about improveing ourselves, in the direction of full Enlightenment. Therefore, why shouldn & rsquo;t Jyotish, too, be about self-development. In fact, it & rsquo;s supposed to be. But, in , for a long period of time, it & rsquo;s most recently become forgotten how to easily and naturally get on to enlightenment. Instead, it has become thought that it was hard and needing much self-effort, discipline or control and concentration to accomplish this greatest of human goals. However, the & ldquo;times, they are a changin & rdquo; to quote an old Bob Dylan song! (I think). Anyway, I come from a very different perspective. I & rsquo;m a meditator, a seeker, an enthusiast, interested in Enlightenment who & rsquo;s also stumbled into Jyotish. As a result, I & rsquo;ve found a natural integration of the powerful diagnostic tools of Jyotish with the healing and self-regenerating tools of the other Vedic sciences to produce the most amazing combination. In the future Jyotish will get back to its original purpose of also being a technique of self-development and enlightenment. Right now, we & rsquo;re in only the beginning. But, any of you who have any experience in any of these other self-unfolding disciples of Vedic knowledge can already attest to their healing and life-improving possibilities. In my own experience, I & rsquo;ve realized that Jyotish itself is already the ultimate self-improvement technology. Because, contained within our charts is not only the most perfect and precise, clear and individualistic understanding of who we are; but, our charts are also precise and perfect formulas for who we & rsquo;re meant to become! For example it & rsquo;s already well known and documented that our charts contain the most developed appreciation of who we are, what our strengths and weaknesses are in starting out in this life. In Western Astrology this distinction is simply called Strengths and Weaknesses. In Jyotish this classification is called Benefices and Malefics. From our Benefices comes all the goodness in our lives. All our natural talents, gifts, and positive human attributes can be readily identified with one or another of our Benefic planets. On the other hand everything uncomfortable, unhappy, sad and disappointing in life can be found directly associated with one or other of our Malefic planets. One of my greatest contributions to the field of Astrology will be that the & ldquo;Malefics in our lives, not only express our problems and challenges in life; but they also represent the very personal and unique, precise solutions to our life & rsquo;s problems. & rdquo; For example, if Mars is one of the active Malefics in our charts. Maybe it & rsquo;s in the First House, or 4th, or 7th, or maybe it & rsquo;s with our Moon, Sun or Mercury. There are a number of Jyotish classifications that deem it a potential first rate Malefic! However, the ultimate judge of our Mars & rsquo; malefic ness depends only upon its practical consequences. If we & rsquo;re the kind of person that #1 has accidents, or fights, disagreements, excessive anger, pitta, fire or any and all criminal behaviors then these consequences are seen as a natural & lsquo;proof & rsquo; of Mars & rsquo; malefic status. However, contained within this classification is its opposite reality. Not only is Mars the & lsquo;bad & rsquo; planet or one that & rsquo;s literally responsible for our Mars problems; but it is the very planet that needs to be and is supposed to be strengthened! In fact, one step in doing this will convince anyone of this deep and fundamental principle of Jyotish. Someone goes to an Ayurvedic doctor and he & rsquo;s got a fever, or any number of other so-called pitta signs or problems, excessive heat in digestion, indigestion, ulcers, etc. and the first thing the doctor does is feel his pulse. Ayurveda teaches that the pulse is a natural barometer of the health and ill-health of the complete Psycho/Physiology. When the Ayurvedic doctor feels the pulse he & rsquo;s looking for the pulse signs of imbalance. As it turns out when someone has excessive heat or fire in them the pitta pulse is found to be aggravated. The Ayurvedic doctor, however, does not launch into one of these long diatribes about how & ldquo;I & rsquo;m sorry, you & rsquo;ll never be able to get out of imbalance, or I & rsquo;m sorry this condition will last for the entire 7 years of your Mars period. & rdquo; No, instead he immediately begins prescribing practical and time tested formulas for self-improvement. These may be dietary changes, including pitta rasayanas or pitta churnas which are by the way designed to lessen or diminish the excessive heat that & rsquo;s in the body. Some day Jyotish will be done like this! We & rsquo;ll get someone & rsquo;s date of birth information. We & rsquo;ll look at their chart & lsquo;pulse & rsquo; and immediately see what & rsquo;s supposed to be their imbalances. Then, we & rsquo;ll talk to the person to hear whether those original birth imbalances are still bothering them. Did you know you can hear in everyone & rsquo;s speech exactly the planets that are bothering them?! Someone says: & ldquo;I & rsquo;m worried, anxious, upset by this or that & hellip; & rdquo; and immediately you hear the Moon speaking. Someone else says: & ldquo;I have no self-confidence, I feel defeated, listless and have no will power & rdquo; and immediately one hears the Sun. Another says: & ldquo;I & rsquo;m tired, exhausted, full of stress, miserable, unhappy and on and on & rdquo; and immediately you hear Saturn. With each planet there & rsquo;s a unique and predictable script of qualities and characteristics which are the true signs of each planet & rsquo;s health of ill-health. However, don & rsquo;t think of them as permanent conditions; instead think of them as temporary imbalances of the body and mind & rsquo;s different planets. With the clear identification of the planet that & rsquo;s likely to be acting malefically, then immediately launch into remedial measures and remedies to bring health and vitality to that part of our human, astrological natures. This, in fact, will be the 2nd most important thing that we do in this group. #1 we & rsquo;ll grow in our daily appreciation of the Astrological reasons why we & rsquo;re the way we are. We & rsquo;ll even find the reasons why other people treat us the way we do; in our Stars! However, the solutions even, for these kinds of so-called & lsquo;outer & rsquo; problems are also the growth and improvement of our inner planets. There is an old expression: & ldquo; The World is & hellip;.as we are. & rdquo; I find this to be a very literally true idea. Even modern day scientists now, understand that all we & rsquo;re ever experiencing is what our human nervous systems can experience. Through our specific, predictable nervous system our eyes see only a very small wave length of the light of the world. Our ears only hear a very small fragment of the total range of sound. Taste too is very specifically limited to a certain narrow range. Add the total details of our human astrological nervous systems and we begin to understand that what we & rsquo;re experiencing is a Direct result of our charts. Therefore, if we want to improve our inner, mental, emotional or outer, physical, social and business, family life; we only need to improve our Astrological planets. This is where the old adage comes from: & ldquo;Know Thyself- & all the gods and goddesses will line up to be your servants. & rdquo; Actually, this is a slightly Eastern take on that old Greek declaration. In addition to studying Jyotish, in this group we & rsquo;re also going be studying all aspects of the Vedic knowledge as well. If you & rsquo;ve never really discovered this amazing knowledge you & rsquo;re in for a treat. The Vedas means pure Knowledge. Pure knowledge means pure or perfect knowledge and wisdom of reality. One of my favorite Vedic expressions is this: & ldquo;I am That, thou art that and All this is That! & rdquo; This of course refers to the knowledge of Brahman. The #1 Vedic idea is that everyone contains a limitless field of pure wisdom, consciousness and potential deep within them that is their truest nature! The purpose of life, according to Ved is to discover and unfold this perfect Knowledge and wisdom. Vedic meditation directly goes to experiencing and unfolding that infinite state of consciousness called Cosmic consciousness. Ayurveda & rsquo;s goals are to create a state of perfect balance of the mind and body till Enlightenment is gained. Even yoga, you know, those cute and fascinating little postures; bendings and stretchings that are so famous now throughout the Western world; even those have an ultimate goal for liberation! There was a saint who lived recently in named Tat wala baba who was supposed to be fully enlightened. His path, by the way was only the physical postures of Yoga. Another of my favorite quotes from Vedic literature comes from one of the Upanishads which goes like this. This quote comes from the & ldquo;Upanishads & rdquo; by Juan Mascaro published by Penguin books. From page 12: & ldquo;Brahman is the Universe, God in his transcendence and immanence is also the Spirit of man, the Self in every one, in all, is Atman. Thus the momentous statement is made in the Upanishads That God must not be sought as something far away, Separate from us, but rather As the very inmost of us, As the higher Self is us above the limitations Of our little self. In rising to the best in us we rise to the Self in us, To Brahman, to God himself. & rdquo; Perhaps this is what is truly meant even by the Greeks when they said: & ldquo;Know Thyself & rdquo; and all us will be added onto you! Maybe we forget sometimes when we study our charts, that we are NOT this small chart with plusses and minuses. I think I forgot how much I took for granted my assumption that within me is the source of all. Therefore when I look within, I try and look beyond the limitations of my individuality or chart. In fact, that & lsquo;s been my experience. I am my chart, but I am also something much greater! My chart, on the other hand has lead me to the ahas, and Eureka & rsquo;s, and the oh, my God, & hellip;. experiences of my life. We all are both our charts and that Self which is truly beyond the Stars. Let & rsquo;s make a resolution then to first study the Highest potential of who we are. Then, as we study our charts we can begin to see how close we are to that highest Self within. Also, we can immediately begin experiencing the full potential of this Vedic wisdom and with each day & rsquo;s reflections and meditations we & rsquo;ll be unfolding more and more of that unlimited Self potential. Then, we & rsquo;ll look at our Jyotish not as a limitation but as a tool to help us literally, get out of the limited boundaries and small mindedness that are so often associated with Astrology and certainly with our malefics. According to Juan Mascaro: & ldquo;According to the Upanishads, the reality of God can only be apprehended in a consciousness of joy that is beyond ordinary consciousness. & rdquo; Therefore we have to go beyond the ordinary dimensions and limitations of our individual charts. We HAVE to transcend the boundaries of our malefics, certainly, and we also have to go beyond even the limits of our Benefices! Though I know most of you will be happy if you just learn to correct or balance your Malefics! Let & rsquo;s however, consider the full potential of Jyotish embracing the full potential of complete Vedic Knowledge and Wisdom. Therefore, in addition to studying Jyotish we & rsquo;ll study how to connect Jyotish to the other most important disciplines of the Veda. Founder Nature & rsquo;s Astrology www..com Personal email at: markkincaid Main Astrology newsletter: / We had talked in the beginning of creating first a Personality Profile to begin our Jyotish study. But, now as this letter has evolved I think the first step is to describe a list of who we are as seen through wonderful descriptions of Vedic and even Western literature. Both cultures have in places the most wonderful ideas as to our true human potenital. " The Spirit, without moving, is swifter than the mind; the senses cannont reach him: He is ever beyond them. Standing still, he overtakes those who run. To the ocean of his being, the spirit of life leads the streams of action. " " Who sees all being in his own Self, and his Self in all beings, loses all fear! " When a sage sees this great Unity and his Self has become all beings, what delusion and what sorrow can ever be near him! " Jai Guru!
