Guest guest
#1 Vedic & Jyotish Remedy: Meditation Dear Friends & Subscribers: You may have heard of mantras that are recommended for a variety of problems in one & rsquo;s chart. There are Saturn mantras. There are Ganesh mantras to get rid of obstacles. There are many. However, of all the Jyotish mantras the most powerful is the & lsquo;transcendental & rsquo; mantras. In other words we can also meditate to expand the complete container of the mind. Meditation is the #1 Vedic and Jyotish remedy because meditation unfolds the latent human potential within every individual. When you go to an Astrologer and they say to you that you & rsquo;re destined to have so and so happen to you that is the prognosis based on your original birth chart. In that beginningthe futurethat is there ahead of you, is based on that specific & lsquo;Level of Consciousness & rsquo; that is indicated by our charts. So, for most people they & rsquo;re living out the predictable destiny of that initial birth beginning. This is why so much of present day Jyotish is filled with fatalistic predictions which end up filling the heart of the Jyotishee with pessimism and negativity. Ever wonder why so many Jyotish books or Jyotishees are so un-hopeful? It & rsquo;s because they & rsquo;re seeing through the lens of fate. But pre-conditionings, pre-determinism even fate is just one aspect of life. This, in fact is the Saturn side to life. We plant an apple seed and it & rsquo;s destined we & rsquo;re going to get an apple tree! We don & rsquo;t suddenly get a guava tree! But, if we decide or choose to change the seed that we are planting, say create a new hybrid, guava-apple seed then it is destined that we will have a new guava-apple tree! The key to change and progress in life is the ability to change our seeds. Our human seeds are our thoughts. How we think determines our success. How we feel and how successful we are in activity depends upon our thoughts. If our minds are tired, unclear or lacking in deep potential power or presence of mind then the seeds of our thoughts will sprout only week, tired and unsuccessful trees. Remember the story of Christ. He could turn a few pieces of loaves and fish into a multitude to feed the people. He could walk on water. He could raise people from the dead! Talk about being able to change someone & rsquo;s destiny! He could heal the sick! One young girl who met Christ but didn & rsquo;t get healed was asked: & ldquo; How come he didn & rsquo;t heal you? & rdquo; & ldquo;Christ told us that he was not meant to heal all. But, that He was an example of God & rsquo;s power for us all to draw upon to heal ourselves! & rdquo; she said. I love this story because it gives us the vision of the ultimate truth and potential in life. We are children of God. The almighty Divine intelligence flows through our veins. We have the potential to awaken to this Oneness. Each step that we move into that complete Christ like status we can awaken to our own consciousness field of all possibilities and do anything! If we are using one finger how much of Mozart do you think we could play? If we come to use 5 fingers how much better do we play? Once we awaken to using our full 10 fingers then the full potential of Mozart can flow through our fingers. It & rsquo;s often thought today that & lsquo;man & rsquo; is using a very small percentage of his potential. Maybe as little as 5 to 10%! Even modern day briain researchers say only 20% of the brain seems to be active. Certainly from Christ & rsquo;s example if his life was an example for all of us to emulate then yes, we are really using a very small percentage. No wonder that Jyotish is full of so many pessimistic predictions and fatalistic ideas. However, too has had its Christ's. In fact there are many, many more stories of Enlightened beings hallowed in India History that show us the power of human beings potential. The biggest problem with Christianity or the West is we only had this one story. Someone who wants to be like Christ, to rise up to his level or dignity is called a blasphemer. Christ didn & rsquo;t come to show us that only one man could become one with God. He came as an example for all people! I have been greatly inspired by Christ & rsquo;s story. However, I was even more inspired by the Vedic stories of enlightened people. If you want to read about modern day illuminated seers pick up Yogananda & rsquo;s famous book: & ldquo;Autobiography of a Yogi & rdquo;. He has stories of dozens of modern day saints who are all great examples of the infinite potential of human life! Keep this in mind when you reflect upon your chart. Is it just a map of your fate or is also a picture of your potential? Because contained within everyone & rsquo;s path is the potential of the infinite. When you reflect on the infinite, understand that it is not only infinite, but it is also in the finite. That & rsquo;s what it means! Being in-the-finite means it can be accessed by the finite at any moment and any time! Therefore make this be your #1 goal and aspiration to unfold each day more and more of your infinite potential. As you even unfold 7, 8, 10 and 15 percent your life will be infinitely improved! Why? Because, the potential for change lies in our ability to contact that level of life which does not change. Think of God. He or She exists in that infinity and functioning from there creates the whole universe. Modern day physicists talk about the big bang as the ultimate source of the universe. God or whomever created the universe and then disappeared like a spoiled child who doesn & rsquo;t care. Modern day Psychology is a reflection of that ultimate despair due to being alone in this vast universe. No wonder so many people are attracted to the stories of Christ and Ganesh or enlightened Masters from . However, don & rsquo;t think that enlightenment is just revered for those very few. Each of those beings who rose up to their full potential did that through hard work and good luck or both. The Key to Life lies in the ability first to prepare for it. It & rsquo;s said that & ldquo;rest is the basis of activity & rdquo; which is an expression that confirms that how well we rest or prepare the night before determines our success the following day. There are other expressions like & ldquo;giving is the basis of receiving & rdquo; that hints to us that we & rsquo;re receiving based on how well we & rsquo;ve given. Our charts too are clear depictions as to why our lives are karmicly the way they are! But, if we & rsquo;re not getting on to that ever increasing fuller and fuller Divinity or Full human potential then we & rsquo;re not truly living the life that we were born to live. Each person has a particular slant of life that our charts are all about. However, within everyone & rsquo;s chart is the potential for unfolding that huge, unbounded, infinite intelligence which is Our Birthright. If we want to do and create we first have to have. And to have we first need to find and then unfold that more and more. Today, we are extremely fortunate because the complete knowledge and wisdom of this transcending potential of meditation has now been fully enlivened. Stories have been there in , for example about this human possibility. But, modern day is certainly not an example of this possibility. Ever wonder why? Because, the art and science of this #1 Vedic technique of transcendental type of meditation has been lost. Meditation is well known about in but generally it & rsquo;s thought to be very difficult and as a result most people don & rsquo;t go for it. But, about 50 years ago, the art of meditation was revised in . It began to be taught in its purity, and in its complete effortless naturalness. As a result today, millions of people have begun getting on to the tremendous potential that meditation describes. In the last 35 years over 600 scientific studies have been done on the reality and benefits of meditation. This represents more scientific validation then has been done even for the entire field of Psychology! Therefore we can say with complete confidence that the full potential of meditation is now available today! Now, let & rsquo;s go into how meditation works and how it has the potential for awakening and unfolding our latent, unused potential. As a result of this Vedic technique we & rsquo;ll also talk about how our planets literally will get enlivened and unfold towards their full potential as well. For example, Jyotish historically talks about the importance of the Moon. The Moon is the mind. It represents the important focus of our entire lives. Unfortunately, common day Jyotish says if our Moon & rsquo;s are Waning or small or afflicted in some ways then the prognosis for us is dire or unsuccessful. And though this may be true from the surface level it doesn't even begin to fathom the unlimited potential of our Moon's or birth chart. If we learn how to unfold the full nature and power of our Moon's and planets in our birth chart then life & rsquo;s infinite possibilities will become true for us! I & rsquo;ll give you some personal example from my own life. Traditional Indian Astrologers who have looked at my chart have said: & ldquo;I & rsquo;m sorry, you & rsquo;ll never have this & hellip;and you & rsquo;ll never have that. & rdquo; From that very moment I realized how far modern day Jyotish has to go to get back in tune with the real message of the Vedic wisdom. In my original birth chart my prognosis for life and success was very grim. I had that all-important Moon in my 12th House of loss. In addition that same Moon was only 1 House away from my Sun in the 11th House. Therefore, mine was a very tiny Moon and that same Moon was with a very negative functioning Saturn which was also in the 12th House. No wonder so many people found depression and loss looking at my chart! Fortunately, I came to Jyotish after many years of practice with Vedic meditation, yoga and Ayurveda. As a result I & rsquo;d already improved tremendously from before I learned to meditate. And, even though my chart fit the way I was a child and growing up it didn & rsquo;t fit me any more after I & rsquo;d been meditating for a number of years. For example when I was younger I was that shy, emotionally dysfunctional, even a depressive child who had their poor Moon with Saturn in their 12th House. I was lonely, very fragile on an emotional level and at & lsquo;lost & rsquo; to all the qualities of my Moon including career. This was of course due to my Moon in the 12th which was also ruler of my 10th House of career. Then, when I got to college I stumbled upon meditation and my life started to fundamentally change. With each day of meditating, immediately I began feeling better and better. No longer did I feel so lost, lonely and unhappy. With each step towards more inner bliss and unfoldment of consciousness, with each day of meditating; more and more of the full potential of my Moon began to unfold. So, how does meditation work? How does it have the potential to change and improve us and our charts? It does this by taking our Moon-minds to the very heart of consciousness. Deep inside every human being is that literal field of infinite and unbounded awareness. When we learn to turn the Moon-mind inwards and fathom deeper and deeper levels of the mind; we will experience directly the full potential of this pure intelligence. The subjective experience of this literally unfolds more and more of the latent potential of the mind. I & rsquo;ll give you an example. In meditation the subjective experience is one of the mind settling down and becoming quieter and more peaceful. During meditation the mind moves inwards. Outside of meditation the mind is used to focusing on this or that. But, the mind has the potential to travel inwards and move towards its source. In meditation the mind experiences quieter and quieter, more calm and more settled stares of awareness. The mind then experiences less and less thought. In this state of quieter mind the body experiences deep, deep silence. The mind is awake, it & rsquo;s not asleep but the body is deeply restful while the mind is more silent within. This is such a unique experience that brain researchers are calling this a major, new, 4th state of consciousness. Actually, historically it & rsquo;s been known that there was this 4th state of consciousness. In Vedic literature it is referred to as the state of no-thought, pure consciousness where only consciousness alone remains. Other descriptions call it Samadhi, Satori or Ananda which means bliss! Modern day researchers now are beginning to find the physiological correlates of this very personal, human experience. The immediate result of this experience then, comes immediately. The benefits of meditating are spontaneous and automatic thought they come differently to each person. Because of each person & rsquo;s different Chart the psychological and physiological unfoldment of all the benefits is unique. One person who has a very poor self-confidence suddenly starts to grow in terms of their self-confidence. People like me with difficult Moon & rsquo;s suddenly start to feel more happy within. Those with difficulties with their Budha or Mercury intellects suddenly start thinking more clearly. Those with difficult Venus & rsquo; suddenly start feeling more love. Those with more difficult Mars & rsquo; suddenly start being more calm and collected and as a result they & rsquo;re negative with their Mars. Those with difficulties with their Saturn & rsquo;s suddenly experience more balance and as a result begin to feel more health and happiness. Finally, those with difficulties with their Rahu/Ketu suddenly become less addictive or obsessive which of course are some of Rahu & rsquo;s more negative characteristics. So, how is it that one simple technique can have these results on all levels of the heart and mind? Because meditation represents the technique of going to the deepest, most holistic level of life and influencing spontaneously all the other more surface areas of life at the same time. Meditation is like getting a good night sleep. If we some day get a good night's sleep we don & rsquo;t just experience the results on one side of the body. We don & rsquo;t just feel better emotionally, or on the level of our intellect's thinking & rsquo;s. No! We experience that degree of rest on every level of the heart and mind. This is because sleep stirs the entire physiology, mind and body and every aspect of life is nourished by the one transcendental technique of deep rest. In this same way meditation nourishes the entire person. Because all the planets just represent all the different aspects of human nature if a holistic solution can be found then the results will be improvement on every level of life. It & rsquo;s been said that meditation is like & ldquo;watering the root & rdquo;. We have a tree and it needs water. Every part of that tree needs nourishment and water. Is there one thing that can bring nourishment to every aspect of that tree? Yes, of course. We only have to water the root of that tree and spontaneously the tree brings to each area the benefit of that water. Meditation is like watering the root of our human tree. By going to that level of pure consciousness we spontaneously bring nourishment to every area of human life. Like a great night sleep, meditation brings an even more profound level of mental peace to life and as a result every aspect of life improves. Therefore, in addition to studying your chart and in addition to learning the important lessons of each of the malefics in your chart; in addition, do that one thing that can bring nourishment to every aspect of life. Meditation is the best and #1 Vedic remedy for solving all problems in life. After meditation secondary, complimentary solutions like Ayurveda, yoga, even Jyotish can be done as well. Meditation and Jyotish actually make a great team. Together they can help us evolve into the person that we were meant to be. Meditation provides the raw juice or unfolding power of the mind. Jyotish then provides the selective Psychology or Wisdom on how to use that unfolding intelligence and deal with all the particulars of our individual Astrological chart. The best, most widely validated scientifically and available meditation today is the practice of Transcendental Meditation as taught by His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. Today, there are over 40,000 teachers who have been trained to teach TM (meditation). You can go to any big city throughout the World and get the same, authentic and profound teaching of meditation. My wish for everyone is that you avail yourself of the wonderful benefits of meditation. And, if you & rsquo;re also an Astrological enthusiast then use your Jyotish with mediation to answer the call of whatever particulars in your chart are required. If you have any questions about meditation and its special relationship with Jyotish feel free to write me back.
