I can confidently use the svara now. * * * As I was looking for the svara (intonation) notation of a mantra in the last few days, I found the following resources on the web. I don't know how authentic they are. (1) http://sarasvati.simplenet.com/rigveda/rigvedaskt.htm Has RigVeda. It gives a brief English explanation of each mantra based on Sayana's commentary. It supports HTML and Acrobat PDF formats. (2) http://hindunet.org/vedas/rigveda/e-text.htm Has RigVeda in HTML, ITrans and PS formats. (3) http://hindunet.org/vedas/rigveda/audios/Default.htm Has audios of a couple of suktas. (4) http://sarasvati.simplenet.com/kashyap/samhita.htm From " Sri Aurobindo Kapali Sastri Institute of Vedic Culture " . (5) http://sanskrit.bhaarat.com/Omkarananda Omkarananda Ashram's site has Sanskrit 1.2 fonts used on these sites. Guest guest
Dear Paulo, May I make a suggestion? You will be better off reading Professor Choudhry's 10 small booklets rather than the books you have mentioned in your email below. With best wishes. Guest guest
Hi All, The books you need to get are those explaining the Systems Approach. These are the most valuable and concise. Guest guest
dear vyas.... thank you for your excellent post. you are right, reading the books is very good and essential for learning the knowledge. i also recommend to my students that they try to interpret each individual chart in the books, BEFORE they read 's interpretation. In this way, you will see what you got correct, and what you missed. By the way, your post is similar to one I posted about 10 years ago :-) Best wishes! Guest guest
Dear Vyas, Since I have been learning from SA books for a few months, I am really valued what Professor has done through his research works and his way of teaching. There is no doubt about the clarity of his knowlege and his efforts. If there are some members who yet to possess the books, PLEASE GET IT. And It will bring you to the some extent of knowledge that professor has imparted and instead of wasting our time and professor's time discussing about the basic principle he has already explained clearly in his books, we can discuss some useful analysises.
