Guest guest Report post Posted February 26, 2009 Respected Vishal ji, The exact quote under discussion is : “ jangal mein mangal kiye, ya mangal nek ka brakh mein sooraj nikala . ki tarah kismet ka prakash hoga†[ 1942 urdu ed ; page 168 line 17] In the above sentence note the word ‘ka’; this means mangal nek ka sooraj like if some one says ‘bhagya ka sooraj’. Hence it can be read as 'mangal nek ka sooraj brakh mein nikala'. Here the word sooraj is used as a metaphor and not as a planet Sun. Therefore the line would mean that the destiny will shine as if the sun of the mangal nek has risen in the brakh [ 2nd house]. Now the question is why brakh [ 2nd house ]. Since the mars is already placed in the 9th, and it can not be simultaneously assumed to be placed in the 2nd therefore my opinion is that since the 2nd house is the burz of Jupiter, and the sun of mangal nek shining on the mount of Jupiter makes the imagery all the more powerful. The example you have given of Saturn 9th and being strengthened by Venus in the 2nd is a very good example. This is inter-planetary relationship which has been talked about through out in the book. In the book most of the results for planets are given in relation to other planetary placements. The relationship of the 2nd and the 9th would be that of takraav [ 6-8 relationship ]. No wonder the winds from the ocean of the 9th go and strike against the mountain in the 2nd and precipitate in the 4th. Sir, don't you think that there is a possibility of a Mars placed in the 9th house giving nek results similar to the Sun placed in the 1st house. It is just a wild guess. Because mars and the sun both are related to the 1st house. If brakh or brakha are used for rain in the colloquial parlance of Punjab, then the imagery of the rising sun, rainbow, jangal mein mangal etc would fit in very well. Had brakh not meant barkha this line is would be rendered meaningless. Bcoz why should sun be restricted to be in taurus or khanna no. 2. The context as whole makes barkha all the more relevent.
