As I can see, there are many distressed members in the group who are looking for solutions to their problems. I am writing this to tell the members that this is a special period for wish fulfillment. We have Maha Shivaratri on the 23rd. There are many Devi Bhaktas in the group. How can Devi Bhaktas please Shiv Ji? On this day or night (actually at all or any of the four prahars), it will be good to recite the Siddha Kunjika Strotam which is the favourite Stotram of Shiv ji. It contains a mantra which can be chanted 108 times to invite the grace of the Lord and Devi. And don’t forget to offer some handpicked and cleaned Bilva leaves to Lord either at home or in the temple. For those who want to go a step further, there is a unique opportunity on 24th Feb after 19.44 hrs, when moon enters satabhisha, which is a rare occasion this time. The shloka at the end of Durga Ashtottarshatnam stotram is the guide in this direction and tells us what to do on this day to get the benign grace. This time when moon enters satabhisha nakshatra, it is a Tuesday which falls on amavasya night. Baumavasyanishegre chandre shatbhisham gate, Vilikhya prapathet stotram sa bhavet sampadam padam One can please all the planets including mangal with one shot. Here’s the little technique to do it. Write Durga Ashtottarshatnam stotram on a sheet of paper with red ink. Read it at least 3 times on 24 Feb at the time of ingress of moon in satabhisha. Then chant the mantra given in Siddka Kunjika Stotram 108 times. Ask DEVI MAA to grant you your wish. I am sure she will not say no. What is the sense of all this ? Why not talk positive ? If You have got the Key for opening the Devi Mahatmyam Jewel Box, then why not open it and show us what jewels you got, instead of harping upon other boxes which do not contain these jewels ? Tripura Ji, I always hd a doubt, and still have. I would appreciate if you could clarify my doubts. I have always been scared of Devee Poojaa. I think Saraswatee, Lakshmee Ji, and Paarvatee Jee, and Gauri ji are good Devee and are worshipped by good people for good objectives such as education, wealth, to get good husband and married life etc. Or Sheetalaa Maataa for removing Chechak or measles etc, or Vaishnav Deve, Mansaa Devee in Haridwaar. But I always have a notion that Kaalee, Vindhyaaasinee, Chaamundaa, Dash Mahaa Vidyaa etc Devee who have their iece form are worshipped only y bad people with bad intentions and they could backfire the worshipper if their condition is not fulfilled. I think their worships are done in cremation grounds with unholy things. In the same way I am afraid of Chandee Paath, or Durgaa Sapshatee Paath etc also. Could you remove my fears and clear my notions about Devee worship. I am interested to know the clean, Vaidic and Dakshin Char kind of worship, so that I need not to be scared of Devee Maa. When you want to eat, you lift your hand and not the leg. In two main forms, both Parvati and Kali are Shakti. In relation to Shiva, Kali plays the opposite role from that of Parvati. It is Parvati or Gauri who brings Shiva within the sphere of domesticity and who, with her soft glances, urges him to moderate the destructive aspects of his tandav dance. Kali is Shiva's `other' wife, provoking him and encouraging him in his destructive form. This is required to complete the cycle of existence. Why should one be scared of Mother. She is loving in both forms. Kali is widely worshipped in the eastern parts of India. That does not mean that there are bad people living in those parts. She is most fierce, inexorable killer and blind and has no consideration of any kind. She is conqueror of time. It is she who can destroy the universe. Being the destroyer of Chunda and Munda, she is only known as Chamundi. Other forms of Kali are Shamshan Kali (goddess of the cremation ground), Bhadra Kali, Ugra Chandi, Bhima Chandi, Sidheshvari, and Sheetla (the goddess of smallpox). How we worship DEVI, and in which form, is up to us. It largely connects with our own psyche and to which form we relate to and feel comfortable with. To some the ferocious form of MAA Kaali is most beautiful and soothing. It depends on what we want from MAA. She is on all the Forums all the time and always asking queries endlessly from anybody on anything and no stop at all. If at this old age and after tens and thosuands of such enquiries on these forums, and from own experience, if one still does not know the common features between, Kali, Lakshmi and Saraswati, then its a shame, and nothing else. Even a small child in W.bengal worships Kali . So is he bad ? What riduculous and most stupid statement of the century , which shows total mental retardness and no sign of maturity. Every traditional Pundit in North Uttaranchal worships one of the Dus Mahavidyas. It is Chamunda mantra. Even if you search the net, you will find the stotram and the mantra. I know there are many vulnerable minds reading these messages. In the absence of any reply to such stupid mails, these young impressionable minds will imbibe what the poster has expressed in his/her long mail as the truth, and may follow it. It may not serve the purpose of correcting her, which is not required at her age and given her behaviour, in any case. I am more bothered about the corruption in the minds of our coming generation. You've seen how west is influencing young people saying that our Gods are cartoon characters. I don't have much time to waste in any case, on undeserving posters. You do not have to chant atha mantra and iti mantra. These words just mark the 'beginning' and 'the end' of the mantra. Actually the stotram is in 3 parts. Part 1, which begins with Shiv Uvaacha is the what 'Shiv says' to Devi about the stotram. That is to explain the mahima and phal of the verses and how it is most important amongst all the verses of Durga Saptashati and how reciting this alone can give much benefit. Part 2 is the mantra between which starts from om aim hrim kleem to swaha. and part 3 is the actual stotram which needs to recited the required number of times from Namaste Rudrarupinye to rodnam yatha. Hope it is clear now. I wonder under whose guidance you'd been doing the stotram without understanding the basics? Also let me tell you, if we recite any mantra with devotion and dedication, the mantra reveals itself, and you've been doing it for two years!!
