Dear Bhaskar ji and group,There's a

solar eclipse on the 26th of January and we know that this is the best time to do aradhana/sadhana,

both for general well-being or specific wish-fulfilment, as it gives manifold

results. The coming eclipse is special in many ways because of the planetary

alignments and denotes a time of change for many of us. We can usher in a

positive change by doing japas and recitals on this day.

One general

recital for all, which never fails Recite Hanuman

Chaalisa, 100 times. Remember the shloka within the chaalisa, Jo shat-baar

path kare koi, Chhootahi bandh mahaasukh hoi … . This itself frees one from all

kinds of shackles.

One special

Hymn for Knowledge and Speech Speech is an

inherent part of our sensory system. Speech is a strong medium of give and take

of emotions. In the internet world, our speech bytes are sent into the virtual

world, but create the same impact as the directly spoken word, an has power to

hurt a larger number of people spread across the word. Speech, or rather misuse

of it, is one of the major bottlenecks in the path of self development.

Overusing,

misusing, or abusing our speech faculty robs us of the energy needed to speak

with depth. When we observe silence for a day, we gain a better understanding

of the old adage "Speech is energy." Mostly people speak only with their

mouths, called vaikhari by our ancient sages. By speaking shallowly, we fall

easily into shallow breathing, eating, thinking, feeling, and ultimately we

subsist only on life's surfaces which rush us through the existence.

We must recall

how sacred words can be. The act of speaking has to be taken more seriously.

Many hymns and mantras are recommended by our ancient rishis to bring our

irresolute tongues into alignment with the divine within us, our hearts and

haras.

I am inspired to

talk about a very special hymn called Ganapati Atharva Shirsha which steadies

our head by bringing the sense organs into line, withdrawing them (pratyahara)

from their unwholesome attachments to external objects, attuning them to the

point at which they value perception of truth more highly than more conventional

gratifications. Ganapati is the "lord of the ganas," and he is the

bestower of all superior faculties in us. While the hymn is recommended to

improve speech and knowledge, it is very potent for all wishes. It is also one

of the best hymns for a stable mind and keeping a cool head. Atharvan or avartan of this special hymn from Atharva Veda has been

recommended by the sages in different ways to obtain specific benefits. One of

the recommended days to do the jaapa is on the day of solar eclipse. For astrologers, this is one of the best sadhana to get shudhhi in both knowledge

and speech.

I am sending

the file of shlokas, its translation, vidhi of recital and phal to Bhaskar ji.

Interested members can request him for the file. Ideally this hymn should be

taught to selected, deserving candidates, all may not be fit to receive this

very sacred hymn.RegardsTripura
