Dear Chandramohan ji,

Economist means a person dealing with figures,

graphs, Statistics, accounts, Finance, and the

ever changeable Rules and regulations in the

areas of operation,by many big players inviolved

including the Government.

Mercury certainly is the key planet for

business acumen as well as for accounts.

It also stands for Communications, which

power, a economist needs without saying.

The 3rd house, 7th house and the 10th house

if strong, would help.

regards,

Bhaskar.

I have a parivartana between 7th and 10th houses and I have Jupiter in 2nd

house....

could you pls suggest if I have the much needed astrological indications to

become an Economist with an Engineering background....(I am an Engineering

Dear Chandramohanji,

I was about to add Jupiter in my last reply,

but was feeling lethargic, andleft so,

and a coincidence, of it being there.

Your 3rd house is weak in this chart,

( Jupiter 12th from own house )

but the natural 3rd house, Gemini

is very strong with a Vipareeta Rajyoga,

The 7th and the 10th houses,specially the

10th is strong, except that Chandra aspected

by Rahu, but Rahu would only cause some

obstructions, bit not be troublesome

to worry about, as it will behave

disciplined in front of Chandra, and

not exactly aspecting Chandra, if one

checks the degrees of the opposition.

Your navamsha chart, 3rd house again

contains Rahu, but its Lord Mars placed

in the 11th house of gains, is a good

placement. Mars incidentally is also the

10th Lord of profession, placed in the

house of gains. The 11th house is

being aspected by its Lord Jupiter,

who is conjunct with a Vargottama Mercury

( Again the 3rd natural

sign Gemini is strong here)

You would have a breakthrough in Profession,

in Rahu antardasha,if you have not already had

in last 3 months.

Your Shani Mahadasha would be superb as regards

to profession and finance.

Now coming to your query, yes the pointers are met

to be a economist, and Engineering background would

help you certainly in this. You can also start any

business connected to metal or machinery , which

can prove profitable to you.

Rahu presently, connected to electricals, and

the oncoming Shani Mahadasha, where saturn

is a significator of Metal - Iron and steel,

and also connected to the 10th house of Profession

as well as the 1st house of self effort, and

2nd house of self earned wealth. The 6th house

being strong signifies payments received

for services rendered/goods sold/dealings done/

transactions made. It will help you very much

for finances too.

regards,

Bhaskar.

hii

" You would have a breakthrough in Profession,

in Rahu antardasha,if you have not already had

in last 3 months. "

this implies I can have a " sudden rapid rise " in my profession before this

Rahu Mahadasa ie before May2010.?

secondly there is a " parivartana between 7th and 10th lords " ..and also

between the karmadhipadhi's from Lagna and chandra lagna ...

this indicates my profession has something to do with my wife? so my

marriage is to have an overtone of professional partnership? When am I

likely to get married? is it advisable for me to prolong it..so as to get an

alliance thats most suitable for my profession?

or this parivartana just indicative of Business/Research collaborators?

and also

I will finish my course @ IIT Madras in 2010...and I plan to pursue higher

education (PhD) in Economics (with lot of Mathematical content) in the US or

UK....though my undergrad degree was Communications Engineering (ECE)...

How r my chances for the same?

thanks a million in advance for your comments :)

looking forward to hear from you

Dear Chandramohanji,

I have already replied, what had to be.

Though this Forum is not meant for such

readings, yet you came up with a astrologcal

enquiry, so I replied you with the pointers.

I have closed this case.

best wishes,

Bhaskar.

Dear Chandramohan,

//what r the common astrological combinations for an Economist?

is Mercury the planet of " business " ? what are your comments?//

Yes indeed, Mercury does signifies such things as transaction, commerce,

business, trade, accountancy, auditing and so forth. More information

available here: http://jyotishvidya.com/planets.htm

//I will finish my course @ IIT Madras in 2010...and I plan to pursue higher

education (PhD) in Economics (with lot of Mathematical content) in the US or

UK....though my undergrad degree was Communications Engineering (ECE)...//

Please examine you chart carefully with a careful eye on 4th (obtainment of

degree) and 9th (higher education). Consider 9th lord Mercury in mutual

aspect with 4th lord Mars and note also Mercury conjunct Mars nakshatra lord

(Sun). Please study these indications and draw a conclusion.

Your Saturn dasa will have commenced in 2010. Note lagna lord Saturn's

dispositor (4th lord Mars) in 12th...indicating the possibility of pursuing

a degree abroad.

Please take some time to study these things before getting back to us.

Best Wishes,

Mrs. Wendy

Chandramohan

Mercury holds the significations of the main skills required to

succeed as an Economist. Critical thinking, abstract mathematics,

statistics, communication, synthesis, logic and psychology form the

core base.

In many ways, the skill-set of an Economist are similar to that of an

astrologer in that a careful synthesis of an array of factors must be

made in order to derive accurate predictions, and explain events.

However, do be aware that within the profession there are different

types of roles that focus on a particular skill set. For example, as

a Government Economist or a consultant, communicating complex

analysis in 'plain English' will be paramount, while an

Econometrician would need to be strong with statistics and modelling.

As well as Mercury, Mars (logic, practical application of theory) and

the Moon (psychology) would need to be strong and influence the

houses of profession. The key house is the 2nd, as economics is the

study of the efficient allocation of resources (for which we assign a

monetary value). Look for the influence of the 2nd lord on the 10th

lord, 10th or Mercury.

Hope this helps,

Maniv
