Dear Elaine.,

I have been remembering you for past 2 months practically

every 2nd day. Your mails are too heart rendenring for me

to read,so I did not reply you earlier in details though I

wished to. Though I could not forget your pain both physical

and mental. I also wrote a reply to your posting on my other

Forum, but halfway it got deleted and then could not write

again. I wish to know how you are faring now, after all

your surgeries ?

I hope you are keeping well and recuperating. Are you

eating naturally now and rest of the daily

activities are you able to do ? Please let me

know and put me at ease.

Do reply, if you are in access of the net.

Waiting to hear from you.

sincerely,

Bhaskar.

Dearest

Bhaskarji,

Thank

You—you have no idea how much your thoughtfulness means to me. I’m

still around—in between sleeping, sometimes 20 hours a day;

computer problems; appointments and hospital stays. I stay to

myself these days more than ever—mainly because I just don’t want

to burden anyone else with my problems. It’s OK though, despite

everything, I feel more content and at peace than I ever have. When I am

awake, I try and stay busy reading my Jyotish books, practicing my Sanskrit,

(an old friend gave me her expensive Sanskrit program she didn’t have the

time for and I’ve made it a goal to be able to read my Sanskrit copy of

Saundaryalahiri within the next year. J); and even creating a Yantra for a dear friend and his

wife (I put both of their natal charts together, connecting in the 7th

house—drew it on handmade silk paper from India and colored it with both

my paints and oil pastels—it’s almost done and has turned out quite

nice!! J He is a friend, but

has also been one of my doctors and is one of only 2 Ayurvedic (as well as

Allopathic) physicians in this area).

I’d

been hoping to see my children this summer, but, unfortunately, that’s

not going to be happening. It may well be for the best though, right now

I’m in between surgeries on my jaw and feel VERY self-conscious not

having many teeth. Hopefully, by the end of August, that will change and

maybe I can eat some” normal” food for the first time in over a

year!! I am SO looking forward to chewing on some fresh fruits and

vegetables!!! I have 2 more surgeries coming up in the next month, and

then I’ll be undergoing more treatments.

I

DO feel blessed and optimistic though. I believe that I’ve been

through the worst of it and these next/last 2 years of Sade Sati will be

smoother; and with the Divine Mothers’ blessings and many prayers to Lord

Shani, we’ll have a much more positive outcome to everything than anyone

expects!! My only regret right now is that I don’t seem able to

assimilate information from my studies as effortlessly as I used to!!

Somehow though, I don’t believe it’s all related to my illness but

rather the ways our brain learns as we get older. I just get frustrated

sometimes because I feel I should be so much farther ahead in my studies…BUT,

then again, I have to remind myself that I have plenty of time to continue to

devote to reading, studying and practice!! J My primary interest is to be able to learn more

about integrating Jyotish with it’s sister science of Ayurveda as I have experienced

it’s powers first hand. Perhaps I’ll write more on some of my

discoveries a bit later, but right now, I’m afraid, I’m getting tired

again and still have some more reading I want to do before falling back into my

dreamworld again. J

Congratulations

on your daughters engagement!! I’m sure this Blessed event

will be keeping you and your wife VERY busy!! Don’t forget to take

some time for yourself during these hectic times!!

And

again, I am Honored by your concern, but I know I am in the Mothers care and,

as I said, am very much at Peace within myself. J

All

the best to you and your family,

Namaste

Dear Elaine,

You have brought a great relief to me by replying,

and positively.

You should know that you are among the few people I

know whom I respect for their fighting spirit and

joy of living, who can fight odds, and yet take the

time out to enjoy what they wish to do, in face of

physical pain and discomfort. My good wishes

are always with You. And people like You are my

inspiration.

The others whom I respect are my own Father and my

nephew staying in Calcutta. Both have come out of

Death in the face. They fought valiantly one from

perforation of the Ulcer -in the stomache which

turned septic and for 3 days he was in pain,

with no Doctor realising what he has got. Finally

he got operated, For 6 months he was taking

liquids through tube in his own body ,which

he opened himself and poured the food pulp in,

which went in the stomache with the pipe opening

hanging outside his body all the time. he never

allowed anyone to do this for him. Since oral food

taking including water was not allowed to him.

The surgeon among the best in Asia.Dr.Bhansali of

jaslok Hospital said it was a miracle that he survived.

He was in ICU for 3 months in that Hospital. Even

today he moves with his intenstines hanging out of his

body kept together with a band, as he developed acute

Hernia after that operation. My father still visits

office ,and works for 14 hours every day, also

learns Tabla (Indian Drum) every Sunday, as he knows

playing all the instruments but did not know to play

this. My fathers age is 75. All his life he has worked hard

and does not believe in any other theory apart from karma.

My nephew aged 22 was suffering from Blood Cancer

for 5 years, and continously taking Chemotherapies,

and finally when the body could take it no more, as

the maximum limit had been crossed, and he was in a

serious condition,The Doctor - Dr.Advani among the best

cancer Surgeons in the world, who operates from

his wheel chair, asked all his relatives to be called

back for the final inevitable. Those hard days, saw

the visit of My Guru from rajasthan, It was a

unexpected visit to Bombay and not pre-planned.

He had come to meet one of his shishyas staying

in other part of Bombay.. he phoned me, asked

me to pick me up and said that " I will have Lunch

at your place " After the lunch, he noticed the boy

sitting on the Sofa. He asked us who he was, and after

being told of the boys story,Guruji said, " Since

I have had Kheer (Sweet rice preperation) from Your

Mothers hands, I now bless this boy. He will no more

suffer from cancer, and he would be fine.

This was 3 years ago. Today that same boy is hale and

hearty in Calcutta, excersising, finishing his Graduation,

with no trace of Cancer in his body. Such are the

blessings of the Great Saints. That boy, used to daily

have problems after Chemotherapy, but I never

saw him saying that I am in pain. henever complained,

always smiling and jovial enjoying movies, books

and shopping. Even on the day when he was to have bone

marrow, there was no twitch on his face.

These Great people including you, have inspoired me.

I always say that the problems people come up in

Jyotish are really funny. The real problem

in Life, is to bear physical pain, and the passing

away of near and dear ones.

Sorry for the long mail.

Wish you early recovery, and bounce back to health.

and remember I am always in spirit near You,

comforting you and holding your hand.

regard,

Bhaskar.
