GANGA DASSEHRA -

 

The Greatest river on earth ,The Ganges, or Gangaji, came down to earth

from the locks of Great Shiva , on Jyeshta Shukla Dasami, that is why

this Tithi is known as Punyadayini (Or Benefic Giving).

Jyeshta Masa, Shukla Paksha, Hasta Nakshatra, Budhvaar, dasami

Tithi, Gar Karan, Anand Yoga, Vyatipat, Moon of Virgo

Raashi, Sun of Taurus Raashi. The combination of these 10 Yogas

is known as " Mahaan Punyamaya " . or great benediction giving.

By these 10 Yogas, this Dasami tithi has the power to, remove

(Or har lena, Like Vighna harta) 10 Sins. That is why this is known

as Dusehhra. The noble soul who reaches Gangaji on this day,

and cheerfully takes dip in the pure manner, in the prescribed manner,

would surely finally reach the Dhama or abode of Lord Vishnu.
