Guest guest
MOKSHA - OUR FINAL DESTINATION Talking generally, and without reference to anybody's post. " Moksha " word is used very loosely and liberally nowadays by each and all. Moksha in other words means Kaivalya or Final emancipation. This is not easy as buying pizzas from a fast food counter over the shelf.,or shedding few pounds of weight after regular excersise for few months. If a person thinks that his Birth Chart shows promise of Swarga (Heavens) because he has Ketu or Sun in the 12th, he may still not reach there after his death. If a person thinks that he can attain Moksha as per his chart due to combinations so present in chart ( Ketu in 12th from karakamsha lagna),he may still not attain it. All promises in a chart whether of Rajyoga,Dhanyoga, heavens or Moksha, all stand defunct, if no efforts are made in that direction.Meditation and Kriyayoga and prayers and love, faith and affections for the Lord, do help in attaining the required Moksha, but how much should be done, depends from individual to individual, which only he knows and realizes as he progresses on the spiritual path. And to progress on spiritual path is no cakewalk in today's times, Its like walking on the edge of a sword. Even recitation of Gods name (Japa) can bring a person to Moksha. There are many ways to achieve the final emancipation, but not with our half-hearted measures, interspersed with our material longings for pleasures, day in and out, we seek, all the time. We need a thorough disciplined life, of yama and niyama. Technical Process of actually attaining Moksha- The saptakoshas (Sheaths) have to be opened completely, and not just burning or extinction of the human physical body, before one can achieve the Moksha. 1.Annamay kosha- The functions of this Kosha are to endure and enjoy all sorts of worldly things i.e..happiness and unhappiness e.g..pleasure and displeasure. 2. Pranamay Kosha - Pranmay Kosha sticks to the Annamaya Kosha. Whatever food we take in the body is enlivened by the Life Force -Prana here. There are 5 Vayus in this Kosha, Prana Vayu,Udana Vayu,Vyan Vayu,Saman Vayu and Apan Vayu. 3. Vasnamay Kosha - On melting of the Pranmay kosha, this Kosha gets opened. This is the main Kosh which contains the vasanas or the desires which we have inside us, which are uncompleted through millions of birth and stay in this body, waiting to be fulfilled. The stronger the Vasnas, the more time this Kosha will take to melt. Most if us are not able to transgress this Kosha and always remain with it, that is why we see so many cases of possession by spirits, Pretas, etc. who have had so many vasanas while living, that they need someone's body to fulfill some of their vasanas before the thousands of years, they are able to get a human body, to once again atone for their sins, and get a chance to re-built their good karmas. 4. Manomaya Kosha - The vasnas in the annamaya kosha are aggravated by excitement in this Kosha, which deals with the mind, or on mental level.,Memory. 5.Gyanmaya Kosha - After the Manomaya Kosha is melted, the Gyanmaya kosha gets opened, This kosha contains all types of learnings and knowledge. 6. Vigyanmaya Kosha Vigyan or specific knowledge, which means self knowledge and self-realization. Since Evolution whatever knowledge(Atma Gnana) is collected , is stored over here. In this body is the " Ego " . (According to Carl Jung , on melting of this Kosha, all dirt is cleared , and thereafter only is, Bhrama-Gnana acquired. 7. Anandmaya Kosha- Pure Consciousness. On melting of Vignanmaya Kosha, ego also goes out. There is no emotion here ,no guilt,no vasana, but only pleasure On melting of this Kosha , the soul and mind become free. Both soul and mind are energies and immortal. they have no death. Thus emancipation or Kaivalya does not mean total dissolve of us,or me, or You,or him or they. We will merge with Him, without loosing our identity, which would remain. Postscript- Then there are different Lokas too, before one merges with Him., like PitruLoka(For ancestors), Hiranyaloka (For those who have experienced nirvikalp samadhi while staying in human body on earth) , Vaikuntha Loka (Lord Vishnus Param Dham where He gives His own form to each and every inhabitant, 4 arms and his beautiful looks) and many other such Lokas, good or bad. There are nine stages of evolvement. If a person remains on the 4th stage in human birth and does not evolve more than this stage ,then after death , he has to take a human birth, if he remains like a brute even after taking human birth and deteriorates his condition with his evil actions, to stay below the 3rd stage, then he will have to remain for some time in the darkest corners of the ethereal world before he takes back a birth, in some animal Yoni (Birth). But if after taking human birth, he evolves himself to a level more than the 5th, then he will not take a rebirth, but ill be given a ethereal body which will take him upwards to the other stages of development, just like we have life in this body. And after every stage cleared, he will get a body more beautiful, luminous and with more powers. But remember this is not so easy to attain. Talking loosely about attaining Moksha, and actually attaining it, is like searching a needle in a hay stack.Lets not search the needle, but become so good a human , that the nature makes arrangement for the needful, on its own, while we are engrossed in our love for God. let us be like the Shopkeeper who buys a cow, and the milk in the udders of the cow, comes alongwith, without we having to pay extra for the same. let us also be like this, carry on with our work, devotion, prayers and good work, meditation,JapaYoga, Rajyoga,BhaktiYoga,Dhyan Yoga or whatever, Moksha, if it has to come, will come on its own, even having this desire itself will become a barrier, otherwise in attaining the Moksha. best wishes, Bhaskar. Guest guest
Dear Raghuji, Good observation. I was under the impression, many many years back, that once a person attains Moksha, he becomes a nobody, non existent entity,he vanishes, he evoparates, he goes in awakenless sleep, etc.etc. but it is not so, luckily for us. The identity does remain in the Super Concsciousness chitta, about our individuality. I request you to read " The Autobiography of a Yogi " by Parmhansa Yogananda, which tells us about the other worlds in details, when Yoganandas Guru,Swami Yukteshwar Giri, is resurrected after death, and comes to meet Yogananda in a Hotel room, in Bombay, where he relates, all what happens after life. This book is a must read for all spiritual seekers, he may be from any caste, creed, religion or geogrpahical boundaries, does not matter, for this book contains references to all the Spiritual masters, including Catholic, Hindu and Moslem Fakirs too. You will also get a explanation, in this book, for the point you have asked me to elaborate upon.On Page 421 of this same book (which I searched just now for You- to find the relevant mention)Yukteshwarji after resurrection tells his foremost disciple the Great Yogananda " When a soul gets free of the 3 jars of bodily delusions, it becomes one with the Infinite, without any loss of individuality " . You must read this book to know many truths which are coming from experienced masters of the Modern day, and not from thousands of years past references, which all may not believe. I also reccomend a set of 5 Volumes (Priced extremely low) " The Laws of the Spirit World " which are written through automatic writing , given telephatically by two sons of a Old Parsi lady, who died in a car accident while pretty young, who gave their writings in form of spirits, an give us information about the spirit world, which information, we normally cannot have access to. Laslty I reccomend 3 books " Aghora " by Robert E Svoboda, a disciple of a Tantric Aghori, who has explained so vividly, i his books, he meaning of Life, and death, and in between. These books are Masterpieces, and one can re-read them many times, never getting bored, always coming back with new insights after every reading. best wishes, Bhaskar. , " raghuvenkataj " <raghuvenkataj wrote: > > Hi Bhaskarji, > > Good post..I could not understand the below lines, could you add > some clarification when you get some time.. > > " We will merge with Him, without loosing our identity, which would > remain " > > Regards, > Raghu Venkata > > > , " Bhaskar " > <bhaskar_jyotish@> wrote: > > > > MOKSHA - OUR FINAL DESTINATION > > > > Talking generally, and without reference to anybody's post. > > > > " Moksha " word is used very loosely and liberally nowadays > > by each and all. Guest guest
Dear Friends, I thank all those who have appreciated my article on Moksha, colectively, through this piece. Honestly, while writing, at one point of time, i was wondering whether I am wasting my time on such matters because we are no authority to write on each and every subject oin earth, and thousands of such matters, but now feel relieved, that there are many good readers in this Forum, who enjoy such subjects too, and read attentively. If the quality and understanding of even one readers life is enhanced, then it is worth it. Guest guest
And the only thing we ever need to be concerned about is what is next; all these stages will occur when their time comes. Guest guest
This was an excellent post by Bhaskarji. Bhaskarji, please do accept my heartiest congratulations for the same. I would like to take this opportunity to clarify this doubt raised by you about not loosing the identity. The Creator is infinite, non-physical, formless, omnipresent, omnipotent, omniscient etc etc and ETERNAL. In addition, among HIS many characteristics, three main are SAT (Being or in Existence or Essence), CHIT (Intelligence or Cognisance) and ANAND (Bliss). On the other hand, characteristics of the Soul are Desire, Jealousy, Effort, Happiness, Misery and Knowledge. Added to these are the two distinguishing features of SAT and CHIT only. Observe that Anand is not included in this. That every living being continuously strives for happiness is well known. Bliss is the next higher and ultimate state. In this state the Soul is free from Bondage, yet achieves " Happiness in Bondage " with God. This is the state of Moksha. The three lower essential stages to be passed through are Dharma (Righteousness), Artha (synthesis of Appeasement and Sustenance) and Kama (Desire). On achieving the state of Moksha, the Soul achieves what is called Bliss, an Absolute Bliss and thus becomes Satchitanand. Yet the Soul is not entitled to be called God. Why? Because the Blissful stage of God is ETERNAL, but that of Soul is an acquired state. Prior to this state the Soul would have been in a happy state but not Blissful. This is the basic difference between Blissfulness of the God and the Soul. Unlike God, the Soul has a limited identity and therefore stays in limited sphere or region. God is all pervading and is therefore everywhere. With its limited and finite existence, the Soul cannot reach the farthest, limitless and infinite existence of the God. He is there, yet not part of the God. Understand that the Soul's nearness or remoteness to God is just a process of mental intelligence only without any physical bearing because between themselves, both God and Soul are formless. Moksha commonly implies Salvation, Emancipation, Deliverance, Redemption or Liberation. In this state the Soul is free from Bondage of primary ignorance resulting from sinful action. Recognition of freedom from Bondage is Enlightenment or Revelation of Ignorance, from which it is freed. Finally, commencement of the state of Moksha also has an end. According to Vedic texts this period is 311, 040, 000, 000, 000 years. After this period the Soul has to again go through the cycle of births and rebirths and go through the entire cycle again till it attains Moksha again! It would be unreasonable to say that in this state of Moksha the Soul merges permanently itself in God and attains a point of no return. If it were so it would annihilate itself and lose its own identity. The question then arises was this the main and only purpose, for which the Soul made all the efforts in the course of innumerable lives and deaths. Surely this is contrary to reason. I hope this would clarify matters... or confuse some!! Best wishes, Amitabh Shastri raghuvenkataj <raghuvenkataj wrote: Hi Bhaskarji, Good post..I could not understand the below lines, could you add some clarification when you get some time.. Guest guest
Dear Amitabji, Good post by You, I really enjoy such posts. The reason for creation- as said by a Great realised Yogi- was that- initially God was alone, just He and no one else, and he did not wish to enjoy the Bliss just alone, as His nature is all giving and Loving. therefore He created many from Himself- ansh-atma- from the Param-atma. Ek se anek. He gave all of these souls (We humans)equal powers and the results to be individually borne by the use of those powers disrciminately or indiscriminately. So that many could enjoy and not just He alone. But due to indiscriminate use of powers we land ourselves in this unending myriad of births and deaths in various forms, as per our base or sublime desires and actions.,which is the cause of bondage. Unless we become clean just like we were, when He initially created us as individual souls, we cannot merge back within Him. This is all a play by Him, and we are all part of this Dreamworld. Dream in the sense that this is not Life, actually as we know it. here everything is changing always and temporary. Our Grandfathers and Grandmothers and their houses which may be no more there today, where we have spent our childhoods, new structures must have come up there, with new owners. Maybe a slight resemblance of the old structures remain, to remind us of our times when we were children. Were they not there, if they are not today here ? Was it not the truth, since those people and those places are not to be seen today ? Frankly speaking, yes they were not truth, and so are we not, too. All of us will perish too, our children too will perish, our residencs would be broken down in time to come with new constructions and new owners. Probably when we come back in spirit form after 500 years,in future, there may be so much change physically here, that we may not know where to find the geographical area, where we were in this birth . What does all this imply ? That this Life is not the actual truth, though it may seem so, its a dream world, Maya, ever changing, which will not remain so eternally. All those present here in this world will not remain so after another 100 years. We will all be somewhere else,in some other form, maybe up in heavens, some in hell, some back on Earth, with new bodies, new relations, new wife, new Father and mother and no memory of today. So what is the truth ? The truth is only of our individual soul existing and our Father, or the whole Soul Existing. Atma and Parmatma is the only truth, rest is all illusory . the whole game of this Life and the rest births,is to make ourself fit to merge with the Parmatma. There is no other truth but just mithya actually. I am trying to read aloud daily (For half an hour) the Bhagavad purana, the story of Lord, as told to Raja Parikshit, after he got cursed to be bitten by Takshak, and for the rest of the days,of his allotted Life span (7 days), he wanted to hear just the truth , as it is, by Shukdeva. In this Great Purana, in the 2nd or the 3rd Skandha also, it is mentioned about the story of the Creation, how the Lord Vishnu wanted to create many of himself so that the world and its inhabitants were born eventually. The whole process, of the formation of the Purusha has been given here, though it is hard to understand. sorry for the long post., but you awakened me to it. regards, Bhaskar. , Amitabh Shastri <amitabh_shastri wrote: > > This was an excellent post by Bhaskarji. Guest guest
This does not matter what religion one is into. All religions in essence preach the same values of Love and Universal Brotherhood. God is one only, finally. The ways may be many, but the end same. Delhi can be reached by walk, cycle, bullock cart, bus, train or aeroplane, does not matter. depending on the resources and Urgency, one may reach sooner or later, and by quality, or without quality passage, and even by default too. The day of reckoning is there for both Catholics and Moslems too. Since I am born in Hindu family, I have no authority to delve deeper or explain with quality about their ways of approaching the final destination, but ultimately it is the same for all, in the final analysis.(God is Light -illumination,omnipresent, omniscient and omnipotent for all religions). these discussions would have no end ........ best regards, Bhaskar. , prasad chandra <cpgahtyari wrote: > > Respected Gurujanji, > I am little bit confused on MOKSHA the path is > educated. > there are so many religions, followers of different > religions, some do not accept rebirth culture and some > accept it. > what is relation in religion and moksha. > please educate us and elaborate light here also. > sicerely yours, > --- Amitabh Shastri <amitabh_shastri > wrote: > > > This was an excellent post by Bhaskarji. > > > > Bhaskarji, please do accept my heartiest > > congratulations for the same. > > > > I would like to take this opportunity to clarify > > this doubt raised by you about not loosing the > > identity. > > > > The Creator is infinite, non-physical, formless, > > omnipresent, omnipotent, omniscient etc etc and > > ETERNAL. Guest guest
Hi Bhaskarji, Thanks for the clarification. This will take some time for me contemplate and digest. Infact, I had been reading the autobiography of sri yogananda sometime ago but did complete. Now, i will complete. Thanks again for the reading references for spiritual development. Guest guest
Hi Amitabhji, The clarification below has added more fuel for contemplation. Thank you. > > Best wishes, > Amitabh Shastri > > > raghuvenkataj <raghuvenkataj wrote: Hi Bhaskarji, > > Good post..I could not understand the below lines, could you add > some clarification when you get some time.. > > " We will merge with Him, without loosing our identity, which would > remain " > > Regards, > Raghu Venkata > > , " Bhaskar " > <bhaskar_jyotish@> wrote: > > > > MOKSHA - OUR FINAL DESTINATION > > > > Talking generally, and without reference to anybody's post. > > > > " Moksha " word is used very loosely and liberally nowadays > > by each and all. Guest guest
Thanks for enlightening us on the subject. You have written that "Thus emancipation or Kaivalya does not mean total dissolve ofus,or me, or You,or him or they. We will merge with Him, withoutloosing our identity, which would remain." I knew the earlier part that dissolving of us only and not anything more and i doubted why a person looks ahead for Moksha if it does mean losing your entity. Thanks once again. Again in my Chart Ketu is with Jupiter in the 12th house Virgo which indicates Moksha but the way life has been till now does not show any glimpse of me attaining Moksha. The life has been full of troubles of various kind till now. In my opinion if a person is close to attaining Moksha, his life should be clear of hurdles. Regards Chandra Sekhar SahalBhaskar <bhaskar_jyotish wrote: MOKSHA - OUR FINAL DESTINATIONTalking generally, and without reference to anybody's post."Moksha" word is used very loosely and liberally nowadaysby each and all. Moksha in other words means Kaivalya orFinal emancipation. This is not easy as buying pizzas from a fastfood counter over the shelf.,or shedding few pounds ofweight after regular excersise for few months. If a person thinks that his BirthChart shows promise of Swarga (Heavens) because he has Ketuor Sun in the 12th, he may still not reach there after his death. Ifa person thinks that he can attain Moksha as per his chart due tocombinations so present in chart ( Ketu in 12th from karakamshalagna),he may still not attain it. All promises in a chart whetherof Rajyoga,Dhanyoga, heavens or Moksha, all stand defunct, ifno efforts are made in that direction.Meditation and Kriyayogaand prayers and love, faith and affections for the Lord, do help inattaining the required Moksha, but how much should be done, depends from individual to individual, which only he knows andrealizes as he progresses on the spiritual path. And to progresson spiritual path is no cakewalk in today's times, Its like walkingon the edge of a sword. Even recitation of Gods name (Japa)can bring a person to Moksha. There are many ways to achievethe final emancipation, but not with our half-hearted measures, interspersed with our material longings for pleasures, day in andout, we seek, all the time. We need a thorough disciplined life,of yama and niyama.Technical Process of actually attaining Moksha-The saptakoshas (Sheaths) have to be opened completely, and not just burning or extinction of the human physical body, before one can achieve the Moksha.1.Annamay kosha- The functions of this Kosha are to endureand enjoy all sorts of worldly things i.e..happiness andunhappiness e.g..pleasure and displeasure.2. Pranamay Kosha - Pranmay Kosha sticks to the AnnamayaKosha. Whatever food we take in the body is enlivened by theLife Force -Prana here. There are 5 Vayus in this Kosha, PranaVayu,Udana Vayu,Vyan Vayu,Saman Vayu and Apan Vayu.3. Vasnamay Kosha - On melting of the Pranmay kosha, thisKosha gets opened. This is the main Kosh which contains thevasanas or the desires which we have inside us, which areuncompleted through millions of birth and stay in this body, waiting to be fulfilled. The stronger the Vasnas, the more timethis Kosha will take to melt. Most if us are not able to transgressthis Kosha and always remain with it, that is why we see somany cases of possession by spirits, Pretas, etc. who have hadso many vasanas while living, that they need someone's bodyto fulfill some of their vasanas before the thousands of years, they are able to get a human body, to once again atone for theirsins, and get a chance to re-built their good karmas.4. Manomaya Kosha - The vasnas in the annamaya kosha areaggravated by excitement in this Kosha, which deals with themind, or on mental level.,Memory.5.Gyanmaya Kosha - After the Manomaya Kosha is melted, theGyanmaya kosha gets opened, This kosha contains all types oflearnings and knowledge.6. Vigyanmaya Kosha Vigyan or specific knowledge, whichmeans self knowledge and self-realization. Since Evolutionwhatever knowledge(Atma Gnana) is collected , is stored overhere. In this body is the "Ego". (According to Carl Jung , onmelting of this Kosha, all dirt is cleared , and thereafter only is,Bhrama-Gnana acquired.7. Anandmaya Kosha- Pure Consciousness. On melting ofVignanmaya Kosha, ego also goes out. There is no emotion here,no guilt,no vasana, but only pleasure On melting of this Kosha ,the soul and mind become free. Both soul and mind areenergies and immortal. they have no death. Thus emancipation or Kaivalya does not mean total dissolve ofus,or me, or You,or him or they. We will merge with Him, withoutloosing our identity, which would remain.Postscript-Then there are different Lokas too, before one merges with Him.,like PitruLoka(For ancestors), Hiranyaloka (For those who haveexperienced nirvikalp samadhi while staying in human body on earth), Vaikuntha Loka (Lord Vishnus Param Dham where He gives Hisown form to each and every inhabitant, 4 arms and his beautiful looks)and many other such Lokas, good or bad. There are nine stages ofevolvement. If a person remains on the 4th stage in human birth anddoes not evolve more than this stage ,then after death , he has to takea human birth, if he remains like a brute even after taking human birthand deteriorates his condition with his evil actions, to stay below the3rd stage, then he will have to remain for some time in the darkestcorners of the ethereal world before he takes back a birth, in someanimal Yoni (Birth). But if after taking human birth, he evolves himselfto a level more than the 5th, then he will not take a rebirth, but ill begiven a ethereal body which will take him upwards to the other stagesof development, just like we have life in this body. And after everystage cleared, he will get a body more beautiful, luminous and withmore powers. But remember this is not so easy to attain. Talking loosely aboutattaining Moksha, and actually attaining it, is like searching a needlein a hay stack.Lets not search the needle, but become so good ahuman , that the nature makes arrangement for the needful, on itsown, while we are engrossed in our love for God. let us be like theShopkeeper who buys a cow, and the milk in the udders of thecow, comes alongwith, without we having to pay extra for thesame.let us also be like this, carry on with our work, devotion, prayersand good work, meditation,JapaYoga, Rajyoga,BhaktiYoga,DhyanYoga or whatever, Moksha, if it has to come, will come on itsown, even having this desire itself will become a barrier, otherwisein attaining the Moksha.best wishes,Bhaskar. Ash Bhaskar <bhaskar_jyotish Wednesday, June 27, 2007 5:43:10 AM Re: MOKSHA - OUR FINAL DESTINATION This does not matter what religion one is into. Guest guest
I have been reading the Krishna book. Daily chanting Mahamantra. This has brought me tremendous comfort following some really tough times. No matter what happens, that book and Bhagavad Gita will always be with me. At this point, it's all that really matters for me. Hare Om Bhai, Ash Bhaskar <bhaskar_jyotish Wednesday, June 27, 2007 3:59:19 AM Re: MOKSHA - OUR FINAL DESTINATION Dear Amitabji, Good post by You, I really enjoy such posts. Guest guest
I have read somehwre that after the death, the soul-Athma- hovers around the location for about two weeks after which the usual ceremony is held to liberate the soul by the various rites and final immersion of the ashes in the river. The soul then gets free of the bondage and returns to the respective stars - birth stars, 27 of them- and remain there until called for rebirth or permanent emancipation. Unnatural deaths like suicides, accidents..etc. lead to the dissatisfied souls hovering around the Earth and reborn elsehwere, usually nearby until they complete the stipulated remaining period of earlier life and leave this world. The rebirths and remembrance of the earlier life in hundreds of documented cases, and short life of some born to complete the Shishta- remaining years of the janma/ life are ntoiced when young perople and children die due to unexpected causes, when they complete this remaining period. Any comments on these observations? chandrasekhar sahal <chandrasekharsahal wrote: Thanks for enlightening us on the subject. Regards Chandra Sekhar SahalBhaskar <bhaskar_jyotish (AT) (DOT) co.in> wrote: MOKSHA - OUR FINAL DESTINATIONTalking generally, and without reference to anybody's post."Moksha" word is used very loosely and liberally nowadaysby each and all.
