Guest guest
I second this post. Everyone should read these most beautifully written books, though by a foreign author (to india), yet he has explained so many things about our Culture, Hindu religion, Karma, Love, God, and thousands of other things which I never had the oppurtunity to read in a single compendium by any one author in India, though I have a collection of more than 1200 books in my personal library. Hats off to this great disciple of Aghori Vimalanandji. regards, Bhaskar. , Vikrant <free_for_blue wrote: > > for all those & myself(as well) interested in knowing more on the aghora aspect of tantra mantra & siddhis (i.e left hand tantra- mantra) there are 3 good books that i personally like reading a lot for the sake of knowledge only....... > **AGHORA, At the Left Hand of God by by Robert E. Guest guest
II Om Gurave Namah IIHari OM aghora from wikipedia Aghori ascetics, while being devotees of the Hindu god Shiva, are monists who adhere to the common Hindu belief in liberation (moksha) from the cycle of reincarnation (samsara). This liberation is a realisation of the self's identity with the absolute. Because of this monistic doctrine, the Aghoris maintain that all opposites are identical and that the conventional Hindu distinctions between purity and impurity are ultimately illusory. The purpose of embracing pollution through various practices is the realization of non-duality through transcending social taboos, and seeing the illusory nature of all conventional categories. The Aghoris are ascetics living in cremation grounds, smearing themselves with the ashes of corpses and eating from a begging bowl made from a human skull. They are attributed with the practices of eating corpse flesh, which may be a once in a lifetime ritual act, and meditating while seated upon a corpse and thereby gaining control over the corpse's spirit. They have also been accused of practicing human sacrifice History Although akin to the Kapalika ascetics of medieval Kashmir, with whom there may be a historical connection, the Aghoris trace their origin to Kina Ram, an ascetic who is said to have lived 150 years during the second half of the eighteenth century. Kina Ram is thought to have been an incarnation of the Hindu god Shiva, as have been each of Kina Ram's successors. But The books Of Robert Savoda tells the story in totally different taste. For people interested in amicable earthly life, It is not worth to serach for ancient disciplines when right handed path are openly avaiable to every one. A TV telecast a series on this aspect of Tantra , It was disgusting to see the activities of aghoras and gave an impression , that a part of humans civilation has gone back to primitves society. The thread on jyotish group has what to do with Astrology is worth consideratin? with best wishes. In his books Svoboda has shown why the Aghoris are as they are. The eating of flesh by Aghoris is clearly explained for the reader, this is a one time practise in the iniation and does not have to be done for life time in the the Aghoris life. The student Aghori is taught to realise hat theres no difference between a scented saffron coated bowl of steaming rice or a part of burning flesh. they are taught not to differentiate bewteen tastes and accept whateveris ioffered at the end of the day, with a disinterested taste., and see the same " Tatva " (Essence) in everything they get to eat. Which means they are taught to be not fussy like we are in our normal lunches and dinner. By reading a book one does not start searching for such paths to tread upon. This is just to increase ones knowledge base. We all know that the right handed path is always safe and secure for people like us,though the results may come slow and steady. // A TV telecast a series on this aspect of Tantra , It was disgusting to see the activities of aghoras and gave an impression , that a part of humans civilation has gone back to primitves society// We are all aware what the TV Media try to project. " Sensationalism " we dont expect young TV Reporters and the cameramen to give us lectures on the spiritualism part of the Aghoras practise. Who has time to listen or study that ? They just want to increase their TRP ratings by showing ads and creating a audience . AND MIND yOU ALL OF SUCH PEOPLE WOULD BE CURSED ULTIMATELY ,FOR SHOWING AGHORIS IN A BAD LIGHT,JUST AS THE people responsible for digging of the Ancient pyramids of Egypt are. //The thread on jyotish group has what to do with Astrology is worth consideratin? // For those who may not be aware, Svoboda has an excellent knowledge base on Jyotish, (His " Book Light on Life " is a Masterpiece on Astrology) Almost all of his writings have a spiritual touch and a interpersed mix of Hindu Culture,Vedic Astrology and religion. And these are the facets of Our Astrology too. We cannot remove them from each other. Guest guest
Dear Bhaskar ji, Nameste, 1.First thing , I donot differ with your views, but wouldlike to mention how variation in composition alters meaning to be conveyed. 2.Second thing I am aware and have several readings of all the three books mentioned. In fact it is obliging on part of Mr Savoda to make known to world the finer side of Tantra branch .On tantra very little authentic literature is published but most is still unpublished. In such a situation work of Mr savoda deserve all the praise. The two sentences were in different context and seperate, but i think are joined and read together that was not intended. 3. You are entitled to hold the opinion and what you write is true when one is deep in sadhana and has been initiated in the path but what i meant was Rarely one is at that state of undergoing need of that experience, howsoever it is logical or philosophically sound. 4 Lastly I admit I have not read books on astrology by Savoda althougho I knew they are authored by him but did not find in bookstores . Mr Savoda was educated in India and has earned a good name in writing. I have nothing against Any kind of knowledge becuase all knowledge is from divine. I wish I could have the skill of beautiful writing . Thanks for reding so far. , " Bhaskar " <bhaskar_jyotish wrote: > > > //But The books Of Robert Savoda tells the story in totally different > taste. For people interested in amicable earthly life, It is not worth > to serach for ancient disciplines when right handed path are openly > avaiable to every one.// > > I beg to differ.
