Guest guest
Eclipse begins at 3 HOURS 27 minutes IST (Indian Standard Clock Time)Eclipse ends at 4 HOURS 06 minutes IST. The (LMT) Local Mean Times have to be calculated with local residency of longitude and latitudes. Area of visibility- Eclipse would be visible in the region covering the Arctic, Asia (Except eastern parts),Europe including the British Isles,Africa, South America and the eastern parts of Central and North America. The beginning of the Umbral phase will be visible in Western Australia, extreme south western tip of Japan, extreme eastern part of China, eastern russia, Phillipines,Indonesia. The ending visible in South Atlantic Ocean, Mexico, central part of United States of America ,and Central Canada. In India - The beginning of the eclipse, the beginning and ending of the total phase of the eclipse are visible from all parts of India. The ending of the eclipse will be visible only from the North,North West, and Western parts of India. In the remaining parts of India, the Moon sets before eclipse ends. Guest guest
For most of the places in India, including Ahmedabad, the eclipse begun at 3.00.00 (LMT) and ended at 6.41.07. But the totality begun at 4.13.08 and ended at 5.28.00 regards, Bhaskar. , S kumar <kumar_8134 wrote: > > We saw the eclipse covering one third of the moon at Ahmedabad, at 6.15AM, > > Bhaskar <bhaskar_jyotish wrote: Eclipse begins at 3 HOURS 27 minutes IST (Indian Standard Clock Time) > Eclipse ends at 4 HOURS 06 minutes IST. Guest guest
Shri S Kumarji, There are certain terms connected with Eclipses stage wise. Eclipse begins Totality or Annularity begins Maximum of Eclipse Totality or Annularity ends Eclipse ends (Prior and ending stage) Moon enters Penumbra Moon leaves penumbra Total duration of yesterdays eclipse was 3 Hours 42 minutes In our laymans language we talk of elcipse connected to totality time, most of the times. In my First post itself I had mentioned a term known as LMT which all the astrologers should know of, which we will be taking in our Course too, when we come to calculations part. Again I will just say in laymans language, this term is known as Local Mean time, and differs from place to place. For example though a child may be born for exapmle at 4.00pm IST (Indian Clock-Watch time) at Calcutta, but his birth at LMT of Calcutta would not show a time of 4.00pm. Also though the eclipse may be supposed to start and end at so n so time as per IST, but it may be seen at beginning and ending times at different places half an hour to one hour, less or more, depending on the Local Mean time. This time difference is known as LMT. If You had read and heard properly, with supporting studies and homework, then all this hard work of explaning to you would not have been necessary. My Information given uptil minutes and seconds, comes from the World famouse Makers of Panchangs (Ephemeris)known as Lahiris, which all the astrologers world over know and use of for the mathematical Data invloved in making Birth Chart Horoscopic calculations.. You also mentioned West- Now west is not one single town or city, but may contain a large mass of land, including the Oceans too. Dividing the Earth into 4 parts East-West,North-South, would naturally not invlove just one area of few hundred kms. but a large Mass,or 1/4th of the Globe. Therefore Your saying that //the eclipse started at 3.30 AM and was almost total an hour later and started receding with full clearance by 6.30AM in the West.// is a vague statement. I have already given the areas of visibility for starting, ending, and point of maximum impact by mentioning the countries too, which is not a vague terminology but more exact. Hope the above is clear now. regards, Bhaskar. , S kumar <kumar_8134 wrote: > > Further I heard the news that the eclipse started at 3.30 AM and was almost total an hour later and started receding with full clearance by 6.30AM in the West. > > S kumar <kumar_8134 wrote: We saw the eclipse covering one third of the moon at Ahmedabad, at 6.15AM, > > Bhaskar <bhaskar_jyotish wrote: Eclipse begins at 3 HOURS 27 minutes IST (Indian Standard Clock Time) > Eclipse ends at 4 HOURS 06 minutes IST. Guest guest
>>>Eclipse ends at 4 HOURS 06 minutes IST.>>> I was referring only to the IST stated above as 4.06AM when eclipse ends. Apparently it was a mistake, as actual end was at 6.40 or so two hours later. I do understand the LMT calculated on the basis of longitudinal calculations of the locations concerend, esp. for casting horoscopes. But the above timing was given as IST as applicable to all locations within India and by West, I meant Western India as Gujarat is situated referring to Ahmedabad and not "West" as generally globally referred. If 4.06AM was a mistake, let us forget about it. Might be typographical or otherwise. Guest guest
Dear Kumarji, You have yet to get the facts right. No mistake, typographical or whatsoever.Eclipse begun at 3.27.00 and ended at 4.06.42Total duration of 3 hours 42 minutes. The rest of the portion (4.06.42 minus 3.27.00 = result and this result deducted from 3 hours 42 minutes)was taken up by the other stages I mentioned in my previous post. The actual eclipse lasted from 3.27.00 IST to 4.06.42 IST. A train is due for departure at suppose 4.06.42am,and departs at right time, but if I just happen tocome on the platform and see it moving away fromthe platform even at 4.10.00am , does notmean that the train departed at 4.10.00am.For heavenly bodies of great magnitude and diameters,it does not take a second to move away, it takes time, and till the time it is noticed by the naked eyes, does notactually mean that the eclipse, still exists. My timings given for the eclipse to the readers 39minutes and 42 seconds (4.06.42 minus 3.27.00) was given formaximum impact for a person to do Sadhana/meditation and take advantage of. I gave them the time which had the most potent power to give rewards for one doing religious actions. I naturally dont expect all the members to sit for 3 hours 42 minuteswhich was the whole period of duration of eclipse, in the laymans language. If You remember, my post on eclipse started with ,howto take advantage of the eclipse, rather then going onsenseless waste of time talks, of the effect of eclipseon nations etc.which everyone was already doing elsewhere all around. Neither was I interested in technicalities of the eclipse, but your posts made me write all this, otherwisethis is not necessary.Lot of time has been wasted in trying to prove ourselves right. How and what is going to effect me, should be our target, and how do we make this effect better, should be our goal, when we do astrology, not what all is hapenning in the world. regards, Bhaskar. , S kumar <kumar_8134 wrote:>> >>>Eclipse ends at 4 HOURS 06 minutes IST.>>>> > I was referring only to the IST stated above as 4.06AM when eclipse ends.
