Hello,

First of all, I would like to thank Bhaskarji for taking the effort to

start this course. I have always wanted to learn astrology and this

course is perfect. I went through all the three lessons so far and

now, I have a question.

This is regarding the difference in weekday values for ChartB from

JHora and from www.astraura.org.

In JHora, the weekday is mentioned as Thursday. In astraura, it is

Friday. Why the difference? Does " vedic weekday " mean something else?

The following is from JHora software:

----------------------------

ChartB

Natal Chart

April 21, 1967

Time: 4:50:00

Time Zone: 5:30:00 (East of GMT)

Place: 72 E 50' 00 " , 18 N 58' 00 "

Bombay, India

Altitude: 0.00 meters

Lunar Yr-Mo: Plavanga - Chaitra

Tithi: Sukla Ekadasi (Ma) (12.91% left)

Vedic Weekday: Thursday (Ju)

Nakshatra: Poorva Phalguni (Ve) (69.95% left)

------------------------------

The following chart is from http://www.astraura.org

Time : 05-30-00

Dear Mr.Shyam,

Please check the Sun rise on the said date ie., 21/4/1967.In JH software it says 6:19:25 AM and the birth took place before Sun rise at 5:30 AM.So eventhough as per English day it is Friday,as per Vedic system, it will be Thursday only.Suppose if the time of Birth is 6:20 AM, then you can see the changes in JH as Friday and not Thursday. So JH software is more Vedic than other software. We follow a day as from Sun rise to next day Sun rise in Jyotish, Muhurta, Prashna etc.

I hope this helps you.

With Regards,

Ramadas Rao.
