Guest guest
Dear friends, Wish You and your family a Merry Christmas and New Year ahead. I remember my school days. I was in a Roman Catholic school (Don Bosco High School) with headquarters in italy and had almost all Fathers and Brothers imported(sorry) from there in our school. Christmas was a occasion to look for. I remember a small contribution made by all of us to the class teacher a month before Christmas, and then awaiting returns for the contribution given a day before Christmas. In the evening we had a assembly in the quadrangle of the school , all of us were given smll packets which contained among others a Lollipop. a Santa Money box for saving money, and the best part a piece of Plum cake, which I used to look forward every year. Most of the good (Do not ask me the definition of good from the eyes of a school boy) teachers with whom I had fallen in love, would be dressed well for the occasion, they had a small dance, and then suddenly Santa used to come from nowhere (actually from a distant terrace among the school buildings) and with the back ground music and choir of the songs " Dashing through the snow " and " Jingle bells " he used to start throwing sweets on all of us students and I being a weak boy in body at that point of time, used to wait for one to fall near me. With his white hair, white beard ,stout body and a big bag on his shoulders and very impressively dressed clothes the Red and white traditional one, he used to make a good entry or a VIP one. I remember those old days. and wish to go back . Those memories also bring in others, my mother coming to school, caring for me, cajoling me, the small pocket monet received every week, the carefree strolls on the school grounds and corridors, the one minute visits to the Church within the school, the friends and enemies of school life, the smell of green grass, the visions of innumerable lunch boxes opening at lunch-time, hurriedly eating and running to play, etc.etc. This mail may become long and boring, so will stop here. Butr Christmas is always looked forward to, and brings in good memories. regards, Bhaskar.

Happy Holidays to you as well Bhaskar ~ What a touching story you told. THANK YOU! Yes indeed it is fun to look forward to Christmas. I had a traditional childhood where I looked forward to ice skates under the tree, holiday family get-togethers at grandma's house, caroling and lots of snow and sliding in it. It was only after my mother died when I was 23 that things weren't so much fun at holidays. My Dad lived 6 years after that and he died too. Christmas and holidays were never quite the same after both of my parents died. Parents are very special, and I feel sad for anyone who doesn't have good parents. My hubby and I for many years used to get each other a special tree ornament .... we still have to go shopping this year as it has been so very hectic with work and all. There are many things to be thankful for ... the hope that someday we will have world peace, the idea that we have not totally destroyed our Earth and still have air to breathe and water to swim in. New Age Arts and New Energy Medicine are becoming more and more popular. 'Conversations with God actually became a movie! More and more people are becoming independent to looking to their Inner for Spiritual answers. Yes indeed there is much to be thankful for and hopeful about! Blessings to you all that you may have a wonderful holiday celebration and that much joy and abundance come into your new year as well! And special thanks to Bhaskar for all his generosity!! -- Cheers, Fay
