Guest guest
Hi ~ I thought of an example that would be helpful if anyone has time to participate as an educational experience for those of us who are not familiar with non-Western astrological methodologies. The below link shows the Western chart for Martin Scorsese: http://www.astrodatabank.com/NM/ScorseseMartin.htm Birth November 17, 1942 Birth Time: 00:24 AM EWT (+4:00) Birth Place: Flushing, New York Latitude / Longitude: 40 N 45 / 73 W 49 Would anyone be able to publish a link for the Eastern chart showing us how it would look so that we can actually see the differences and compare? And perhaps an explanation of how the charts are similar and/or different? And what additional information might be derived from an Eastern chart using your methods? Thanks ~ -- Cheers, Fay Every day in Flagstaff is just another day in Paradise! © Fay S. Kelley Cell 928.600.1733 " There are many paths to Enlightenment. Be sure to take one with a heart. Guest guest
Dear Fay, You can download some software like JHora or others. And take a look at it. Compare values with information given in classics like Brihat Parasara... This might give you an idea. And I have no idea how to construct an Eastern chart or how to interpret it. This was just a suggestion for a group discussion of astrology on this list. I just chose a chart of a famous film director rather than some political figure to try to keep that chart 'neutral' if possible. Since I got basically no response from the list in the way of conversation re the chart, I take it that this was not of interest to the list in general. -- Cheers, Fay Every day in Flagstaff is just another day in Paradise! © Fay S. Guest guest
Dear Fay, Your suggestion was well meant and taken so too. This is the right way to start meaningful discussions on the Forum. I have personally not intervened to discuss, only because of pre-occupation by unattended matters which now need my attention, for example I have to sit for an examination on Teletherapy (Distant Healing through Cosmic Rays)next to next Sunday and also one on Palmistry after which I can enter Medical Palmistry. Since I have not studied whole previous, year, the way I should have,if I do not do so now it will hamper my growth in these fields, plus one exam on Mathematical Part of astrology. All these Exams need minimum 50% score to go through and fat books to study. Apart from the study part one has always to take care of the fires burning in the kitchen too,you will agree. After the share market fall in India just few months back now we have seen the markets rise since last month , so I have to contact all my old clients (Of Mutual Funds - I am Broker) and meet them personally, renew our relations and offer them new Funds coming in Market. All the above work has come together for me. Probably after December 15th I would be able to actively take part in discussions with whatever limited knowledge I can share. But remember that your efforts are visible. Best Wishes, Bhaskar. , Fay Kelley <iceisit wrote: > > B A wrote: > >Dear Fay, > > > > You can download some software like JHora or others. Awww Thanks Bhaskar ~ I knew were you going to be very busy for a long time during this period, and I am happy and thankful that you dropped by to say hello. No explanations are necessary .... we'll see you on the list when you get caught up on others matters. Guest guest
Dear Fay, Sorry, if I caused any misunderstanding. I just tried to give a suggestion, just as you did, too, dear! And I'm no astrologer either. And do not know how to interpret a chart, not eastern, not western! But, in my humble opinion, I think those two tools Jagannatha Hora software and BPHS, are a good way to start. Dear Learned Astrologers, please correct me if I'm wrong. I'm not familiar with MacOS, so don't know if JHora is Mac-compatible. Maybe there's some info on it's website. And, sure, it was a good idea, I agree. For starters, better take a neutral case, I think so, too. Even if we newbies write any nonsense about Martin, I'm pretty sure he won't mind So, all in Peace and Harmony?
