Guest guest
Dear friends, Below is a exchange of mails between myself and another gentleman on one of the astrological Forums. I thought maybe this may prove argumentive for those among You whose friends do not believe in the planets not affecting human beings. The Query and the replies are mentioned in order. Finally the good gentleman had no reservations or qualms in accepting the power of the planets on us humans. This is pretty long so before you start reading know this. Thanks, Bhaskar. > Dear all, > talking about sceptics I have few questions of my own ) > > I am sure they have been discussed millions of times before. > > How exactly do planets affect us. Does say Jupiter send out a ray/vibration/electromagnetic wave that enters our body and which is different from Saturn and others. > > We know sun rays reach us after 8 minutes. Has anybody ever measured these rays/waves at all ( assuming they exist). Does science help here? There is a lot of speculation and pseudo scientific stuff that we can assume to justify our beliefs ( like rays and waves ) , but how exactly can a planet millions of miles away affect us. > > Cheers Dear , If You believe in Chemotherapy.then believe in plantary rays. If You believe in Lithroscopy then " If You believe in Remote conttrol of TV then " If You believe in wireless transistor then " If You believe in Airconditioned remote control then " If You believe in Infrared rays then " If You believe that the tides in the seas is effected by the Moon which is again million of miles away, then " If You believe in the seasonal migration of the birds, etc. to different places every year on a particular season then " If You believe in the power of eclipse caused by Sun which is trillions of miles away and yet before eclipse shadow falls on earth, all earthly animals, beasts and flying birds etc. cease to make any movement or noise, there is silence in nature , then " If You believe that few people sitting in their air conditioned cabins in the airport can monitor the movements of the aeroplanes in the sky, or few people sitting in the remote corners of the world can monitor the movements of the satellites sent by us and space ships launched by us, then " I will talk about my city,Bombay. My transistor 30 years back when I was in school which is 25 kilometres away from the Radio station used to catch the Cricket commentary without any wires. The whole world is made of Cosmic rays, either in Vapour form,l iquid form or solid form. For example water. (Dont ask me to prove this, all the elevated spiritual beings like Swami Asaramji Bapu, Swami Ramsukhdasji, ParamHansa Yogananda have said this and I believe them, just like I believe when my mother says call this man Papa,I dont ask for proof). The 9 Planets are the manifestations of the Supreme(You will find reference in the Bhagavad Gita, I can prove this, but spare me the trouble please, I will have to search for this shloka)eg. As per our individual Previous births Karmas we have to be born to bear the results of the rinabandhans created by these Karmas, in a particular planetary configuration, where each will either bless us in certain departments of our life, or else punish us in others. Thats the explanation for some children being born lame or blind or without other physical faculties, without apparently no faults of theirs, or some with short life who die immediately after being born, or others who live long. Then those who live long, again some have good wives/husbands, but maybe not good money, some may have good money but maybe not good health etc.etc. Why these irregularities apparently ? Is there all hocus pocus around ? No certainly not. Everything is actually really perfect. What do you think holds the planets in mid space revolving at the same speed and not falling down or not coming in each others path, or not slowing down ? At such fast sppeds and vast dimensions of the planets, do we ever even feel that we are suspended and revolving in mid air ever ? The bedroom where we sit in our house, does it shake ever ? Never. Why because there is a supreme power , a supreme consciousness which hold everything in Universe in Order. Forget the science . As per science they attribute all this to Bing Bang theory . Even if there was a Big Bang ever and pieces of solids (Planets and other space entities )were hurled here and there, would they keep on hurlinag at the samespeed ever ? If You throw a ball in the air does not it slow revolving or rotating after few minutes ? Or do you call thisgravitational force. Whatever science does not have a answer for, it will not accept as true. And they keep on changing the facts of their discoveries. the latest example is Pluto, first for last half a century it was called a planet. Now no More. What faux paus ? Yet if you need a scientific base then - The Cosmos is full of Cosmicrays. In 1900 the famous scientist Dr.Hess of Holland proved that these come from the sky. And they affect everything living or non-living. All matter is vibrating and has its own vibrations.(Atoms,Electron,Neutron,Proton etc.) Wherever vibrations is produced ,Wavelength is there. The principle of Cosmic rays depends completely on Wavelengths. Cosmic rays are of 9 types -VIBGYOR and 2 more ,Infrared (IR) and Ultra Violet (UV). The colours are also attributed to the planets which I need not explain any of You.(Gems are the storehouse of Cosmic rays in concentrated form) These Cosmic rays when in state of imbalance create the irregularities which we see in apparently in everyones life. I can write many sheets and pages on above to prove further with names of American scientists and scientists from other countries too, but thats not the purport here.A little reading on Radiesthesia will also give knowledge to a person about above. Thus when a child comes out of the womb, and hits the atmosphere, all the invisible cosmic rays (either in excess or in dearth as per his indivdual karma have decided for him to place him here at the particular planetary configuration which matches his Karmas)hit him, his body then receives in the rays which affect the major part of his life for deciding to suffer or enjoy the results of his dridha (Unalterable)Karmas, while also allowing him to act free and enjoy results in form of adridha karmas which are temporary. You may also argue that the child has already come in the body nine months back, so for that too astrology has a answer in form of pre- natal epoch. What about science ? It will also answer all above in time to come when it discovers one by one the facts which have already been discovered and recorded by the Old and Ancestral Rishi Munis of Indias in the texts. regards, Bhaskar. Dear Bhaskar, That was simply superb. I can see whatever you have said has come from your heart and from lot of experience that you have gained in this field. I could learn many things from your mail. I am in complete agreement with most of what you have said, except a couple of things: 1. You said 'Foreget Science... " Your statement implies that Astrology is not scientific. I don't agree with it. Astrology is scientific as any other branch of scince, probably the most advanced. Unfortunately, some of the layers of this branch of science has been lot over centuries. As students of this science it is our responsibility to find those missing pieces. Just to give an example - We have learnt that Moon represents blood and Mercury represents skin. This could be 100% true. However, the missing piece here is that how did our great rishis establish this relationship and on what basis? This layer of the science has been lost. 2. Asking questions is not wrong It is a great thing to believe in what our guru's tell us. However, when doubts arise one should ask questions. That is how one can asscimilate the knowledge in their own way. In fact, even many of our ancient great texts have been written in question and answer form. Question and answer form appear to be the essence of our ancient gurukul system. When we learn something by just by belief and not by understanding the 'why' behind, such a knwoledge is incomplete. This is what has happened over recent centuries in India. Whenever my elders follow a custom/practice/ritual I ask them why they are doing it that way. Unfortunately, the answer I get is that " I don't know, but my mother/father used do like this " . What they might be doing is perfectly reasonable and based on a sound scientific principle. If one does not understand the reasoning, the value is lost. It just becomes a plain exercise like a body without the soul. This is not a good way of passing on things to the next generation. Along with belief, we need to understand the reasoing behind. Hope I have not hurt your sentiments. Thanks, Dear , Good that You raised those points. 1) At times, we have to forget certain things to lay emphasis on others. For example whenever I used to take my son to the Doctor for taking injection for any malady,I used to tell him forget the pain, forget the injection, forget the needle,You just chant " Ram Ram " for few minutes loudly. In the same way, at times we have to forget Science too, not that we have to ignore it., or that importance is not there. But just because Science has not put its signature on certain known facts to us due to our cultures, so we should not believe so n so, should not be there, IS ACTUALLY MY ARGUMENT. I agree that Jyotish is the best, most revealing and peace giving science in the world which brings in contentment to the one practising it and also to the follower and makes both of them a better person with superior quality of live progressively. How the Ancient Rishis established these relationships ? Through intuition and close communion with the Supreme all pervading consciousness (GOD). Has anyone proved today how did all the Rashis get the ownerships or why did the Vimsottari Dasha get the particular number of years for each Planet and the Order ? Many things are Known (are Accepted) and not to be known (not to be To be found, cause they are unfounded because they have been known not through the normal sources of prognostications). So here we cannot put in the missing links. It will take us many life times and yet would not be able to do so. 2) What You say is very right. But life is too short to find out the Why of many things. I cannot find out with a normal 60 year life span how do all things work, TV,Computer, Remote control, electricity coming to my house, sanitation in my city, how the Government functions, Mouse which I use most of the day, or CD Player etc. millions of things which we are just using daily in our lives, just that much as we are supposed to know how to use them and not how they work. Morari Bapu I read once in his Ramayana (I had read 22 years back and still remember this passage) you want to eat Chana/Singdana of Rs. 1- go buy it and eat it. Dont waste time on finding out where the farming of this is done, what seeds are sown, what manure is put, how much water is administered daily, when they sprout and when they are harvested. Asking questions is certainly not wrong. But trying to find reasoning in everything is certainly wrong. Because at least our elders are following certain rituals which must have been completely right though they not be knowing the meaning, and You as a son would keep on the tradition alive, unless you become modern and start searching for the reasons which the elders may genuinely not be knowing without any fault of theirs. If Valmiki had started asking questions that why You ask me to recite " Mara Mara " he would have never reached to Rama and his sainthood. It is upto us to keep discretion where to ask questions and where not to,where to search for answers and reasoning and where not to. I certainly agree to You but again as I said that life is too short for us to be searching for many answers, and if one is really intuitive enough and very much in want of a answer then Nature provides him so, in many ways, it all depends on the perception and retentive powers in a person to person and what exactly he wants to know, whether is it really worth knowing. For ex. My grandmother used to shout at me 40 years back when I used to attend the natures call that keep your mouth closed inside, dont sing songs, Your both upper and lower layers of teeth have to be closed tightly. I did not understand then, neither I asked, but always wanted to know why so. Then when i grew up I realised that there is something known as Apana Vayu which operates below the Muladhara Chakra near the anus, and as we open the mouth then instead of it moving downwards to help the flow, actually retards the flow and makes it uncomfortable for one to answer the natures call. Or they used to tell us not to keep adrakh(Ginger) in the refigerator. When I grew up I came to know that Ginger contains the Agni tatva (Fire Element) and we not supposed to keep it cold. Plus thousands of things like that. Now I dont care for answers about each and all. I have to be more focused on whatever I am doing at hand, be it Astrology, Yoga, My business or whatever and have to search answers for questions coming up there. No sentiments have been hurt. You gave me the oppurtunity to clear myself and agree with You, except that I have to do many important things in life yet and would be searching answers in those zones, take care, regards, Bhaskar. Dear Bhasker, Again you amazed me with your vast knowledge and experience. I have not got such detailed reasoning ever before from anyone. Thanks a lot. Coming back to the two points we were discussing, here is my reaction: 1. I am not suggesting that we will find all the missing links in one lifetime. It could take a long long time. Being student of science, I feel it is correct to make an attempt in that direction (assuming that there could be a few missing links) 2. I agree that not everyone can learn everything in their lifetime. Using your own example, I would say that not everyone wants to just watch TV. Some people are more interested in understanding how TV works rather than enjoying the show. That knowledge would give them more satisfaction than watching a great show. People should have the feedom to choose what they should pursue in their life rather than to be told what to do. Each one of us are unique - Lokobhinnaruchihi. That is all. Thanks again for an enlightening message. Regards, Dear , Thank You for your reply. If if someone reads a mail and acknolwedges it then the efforts are rewarding. Coming back, I am also a lover of Science always since childhood, and always search for the links, how to connect with what one is told to do with the why. Off late I have realised there is much to learn and we cannot possibly do that. This is one of the Vasanas which prevent man from rising back to Godhead. Known as Gyana vaasna where one wants to read all knowledge available and learn too, specially scriptures. Unforunately its too much in me and since last 2 years am trying to keep myself away from buying many books and less of reading. Because there is no end to reading and passing ones time whether for good or otherwise. It would be better once a man turns 40 or 45 + to shift his attentions to meditation and the like, where he will ultimately if the efforts are regular and sincere coupled with right way of living, then would achieve the activation of his Agya Chakra (On the forehead between the eyebrows). Once this is done then all knowledge is available by intuition and one does not have to read a book to find what is written, but just touching and concentrating on it is enough to know the essence for example. The above would be one step forward to astrology or one step before the last, after which all guidance comes from the Supreme power. This is what ParamHansa Yogananda taught to the fortunates of this world. This is a wish, I am not sure would be achieved or not though. regards,
