Guest guest
Dear Fay, This is a long real story. I will relate in very short. In India two epics are revered a lot by the Indian Hindus. One is the Ramayan and the other is the MahaBharata. Ramayana is the story of a Great King who has a Great Son-Prince heir to the throne,by the name Of Rama .This Great king has 4 wives and on the day when the Son has to be coronated to the throne, the 4th Wife who is stepmother to this Prince son, demands a old promise given by the King to her to ask any wishes which was not yet availed by this lady. The step mother asks for her own son to be given the throne and Rama to be exiled to the forest for 14 years. The dutiful son goes to the forest accompanied by His wife Sita and younger brother Lakshmana. Here one Demon Rakshasa King by name of Ravana kidnaps Sita enchanted by her beauty, and thereafter Rama meets his immortal Bhakta (disciple) Hanumana, who helps him with re-union with his wife after a great battle ,and tomorrow is the day when Rama returns home (Thousands of years ago) back to his kingdom to sit on his throne and rule his kingdom. So Diwali is celebrated as the homecoming of Rama when the whole of India welcomes Rama by lighting all lamps and all types of celebrations to have their beautiful, handsome and Great King back home. Rama is considered to be the incarnation of God ,the supreme consciousness Vishnu, pervading all around the Earth and Universe, in Human Form. The God -Supreme consciousness is actually Formless but since co-relating is not easy for humans, God takes once in a while form as Human which is known as incarnation and thus we have Diwali as explained above, to welcome God back home. MahaBharata contains story of a Kingly family where zealous cousins try to unsurp portion of the rightful owners and take their share too. It contains all what a Man in real life faces, struggles, vices and overcoming them ,justice, injustice all. here also God has taken incarnation as Krishna, who is the base of my Photos/Portraits on this Forum Home Page. Here in this epic is the great religious discourse given by the Lord known as " The Bhagavad Gita " which is pure to the Hindus just as The Holy Bible to Catholics and The Holy Quran to Moslems world over. The other mails received elsewhere I will reply in a few days time though I acknowledge and thank You for them today. I am sorry i should have explained few postings to the Non Hindu members, but letharginess and lack of time time made me wary of doing so. Rama Sita and Lakshma You cane see on the Home Page portrait. Ram is seated on the throne, and Bhakta Hanuman (Monkey Disciple), the Hindi word is actually Vanara,I dont know the right English equivalent, You may see serving at foot of Rama. This much for today. Rest another day. Bye Take Care. Regards, Bhaskar. , Fay Kelley <iceisit wrote: > > For those of us who have not heard of this holiday, > would someone please tell a little bit about it? > > Thank you ~ > > -- > Cheers, Fay > > Every day in Flagstaff is just another day in Paradise! © > > Fay S. Guest guest
ll HARE RAM ll My dear friends, Please accept my hearty greentings on the pious occasion / festival of HAPPY DIWALI not only to [AR] family members but also all the members of other Groups.I pray to kind God for granting immense prosperity, harmony, peace and politeness to all the members. We enlight lamps (DEEPAK) to remove the darkness of out side on this day but it is much needed for us to remove the darkness of our inner soul. What is the darkness of our inner as KAMA ( Bad desires), KRODHA (Wrath),MAD( Insolent) LOBHA (Selfishness), ERSHYA (Malignity), DWESA (Melafied Intention) and AHANKAR (Proud)and what is the commen among them that these are all related to Agni (Fire) Tatva means the domination of Sun,Mars and Venus lord of North- South means among seven planets three are Agni Tatva related to Maa Lakshmi- Maa Kali the great destroyer of evils.Than what should we do to control them & get their blessings? We should go to Jupiter a Guru tatva ( Anand) means God and Aakash (Sky) tatva the place of God means tatva of peace is MAA Sarawati along with taking water means Moon means wiseness (vivek) means Lord Ganesh .Therefore by the blessings of Maa Saraswati means Truth & Honesty along with Lord Ganesh means wiseness we can get the blessings of Maa Mahalakshmi or Maa kali easily and can be able to remove the darkness of our inner surely otherwise the planet of Justice Saturn will show us the right way by their Saade- Saati and Dhaiya etc. Therefore i do request all of you to please try to light the Deepaks of true HUMANITY,POLITENESS and KINDNESS in your heart so that we may say to God pridely that your universe is so little in comparison to my heart.
