Guest guest
{Om Namo Narayanaya} Dear Bhaskar ji and all, Namaskar. I coudnt agree with you more. EGO is a grossly misunderstood term, in fact it is healthy. It denotes the self esteem which is so important an ingredient for any recipe for success. Low self esteem is what deters progress. What is abnoxious is Inflated Ego, as you rightly pointed out- you would hesitate to remain in the *orbit* of one with it. People often do get confused with them and tend to view 'ego' with negative connotations. In every context, when you know that what you have done is not wrong but still are taking the flak for doing so, (probably the person in question truly believes that his/her way is the right) a simple expression of regret makes all the difference- a healthy respect for the other *soul*. I have tried it many a time and have always felt happy for having done it. So it is not always 'eating the humble pie'. There are so many 'ego's' - Child ego, parental ego, spiritual ego and the list is vastly populated. A few of my thoughts... Right, we have to take good care of ourselves .... love ourselves to do so. But not be consumed with it. That is probably what I was referring to .... the part of us that becomes defensive or hurt or reactive. >What is abnoxious is Inflated Ego, as you rightly pointed out- you would >hesitate to remain in the *orbit* of one with it. Very funny ! >People often do get confused with them and tend to view 'ego' with >negative connotations. The ego I am referring to is the part we must master while we are on Earth. >In every context, when you know that what you have done is not wrong but >still are taking the flak for doing so, (probably the person in question >truly believes that his/her way is the right) a simple expression of >regret makes all the difference- a healthy respect for the other *soul*. Yes, it is true. Someone said to me once that the ultimate is to allow negative energy to go around or pass though us rather than have it catch inside somewhere. That is my goal. >I have tried it many a time and have always felt happy for having done >it. Ahhh. That is wonderful. Feeling happy and at peace no matter what happens around. us. :-) >.....There are so many 'ego's' - Child ego, parental ego, spiritual ego and >the list is vastly populated. > >A few of my thoughts...
