Guest guest
for ur information ,let us recall what bhagvan has to say about non-vegetarian food.he says for an enlightened being there is no discrimination in food though they may voluntarily choose a certain type so as to enable their followers in a path toward easy results.buddha did eat meat so did jesus and muhammad and vivekananda and saibaba and many others .this did not stop them for realisation.bcoz the feeling i am eating meat which is a forbidden food was not in their mind .let us understand that more effect is produced in the way we think than in what we eat.and again it seems that with this thought in head 'regarding ahimsa and non killing' it may be that a habitual meat eater can realise with ease than an orthodox who has lots of restrictions in mind.in the end for a realised being it simply doesnt matter whether flesh or fruit, its all the same for them.so what should have been a great aid for seekers ' that is vegetarian sattvic food ' has become simply one more addition to the long que of do's and dont's already present in mind. in bhagvans name Tony OClery <aoclery wrote: , "Tony OClery" <aoclery> wrote: , zen2wrk@a... wrote: > > > In a message dated 11/24/2005 3:27:28 P.M. Oh, and it's not "enlightened being," it's "foolish." > > Zenbob Namaste, It is difficult to talk to a farmer and meat eater about this as we have found before. A person an a desert island is just a 'red herring' the circumstances are different. Some primitive humans kill and eat meat according to custom, to survive...I know that. I have also gleaned from the Vedanta that one desire only is enough to prevent Moksha. The Buddhi has to be purified, we are all working on it. I am not saying that meat eaters aren't on the path, what I am saying is that it is against Ahimsa and Daya for animals, therefore is a desire samskara to be purified. The DL may or may not be more advanced than I am, but in the end we still have to purify the Buddhi. http://www.geocities.com/aoclery/AVEGETARIANandAHIMSA.htm ONS...Tony. --- End forwarded message --- Personals Single?
