Guest guest
Namaste all. I was clearing up some of my old papers, when I found the following 'treasure'. I do not know where I had collected it from. It was published by 'Brahma Vidya' sponsored by Kumbakonam advaita sabha. It says it was found in Saraswati Mahal Library in Tanjore. It is supposed to be a composition by Adi Shankara at the time of his seeing the pAdukAs of his guru on the shores of Narmada! : 1. jagaj-jani-stema-layA-layAbhyAM agaNya-puNyodaya-bhAvitabhyAM / trayI-shiro-jAta-niveditAbhyAM namo namaH shrI-guru-pAdukAbhyAM // 2. vipat-tamas-toma-vikartanAbhyAM viSishTa-sampatti-vivarddhanAbhyAM / namaj-janASesha viSeshadAbhyAM namo namaH shrI-guru-pAdukAbhyAM // 3. samasta-dustarka-kalanka-bhangA-panodana-proudha-jalASayAbhyAM / nirASrayAbhyAM nikhilASrayAbhyAM namo namH shri-guru-pAdukAbhyAM // 4. tApa-trayAditya-karArditAnAM cchAyAmayIbhyAM ati-SItalAbhyAM / Apanna-samrakshaNa-dIkshitAbhyAM namo namH shrI-guru-pAdukAbhyAM // 5. yatA giro prApya dhiyAM samastA hriyA nivRttAH samameva nityAH / tAbhyAm-ajeSAcyuta-bhAvitAbhyAM namo namaH shrI-guru-pAdukAbhyAM // 6. ye pAdukA-panchakam-AdareNa paThanti nityaM prayatAH prabhAte / teshAM gRhe nitya-nivAsa-SIlA shrI-deSikendrasya-kaTAksha-lakshmIH // I apologise for not translating this into English, because I don't understand it fully! Maybe scholars like Sastri-ji can give the translation. PraNAms to all advaitins. profvk
