That's true, of course, Dan.

And so what's wrong with " checking the will of the people " before

" not-passing-the-buck " and making a decision?

Not really.

Much of it involves just this sort of thing, 'benign dictatorship' where the

will of the people is checked out before decisions are made.

Seems reasonable here. There's no " mob rules " to that, nor is that even

possible on a mailing list with a " list owner " that makes decisions.

P.S. current political systems actually seem here to work much better than " one

king to rule the land " , i.e. dictatorship. Vlad Tepes, Pol Pot, Adolph Hitler,

et al. were not nice peeps.

" Checking the will of the people " could just as well be taken as a sign of not

wanting personal power, as it could of 'passing the buck'.

The list owner makes the decisions.

It's just that fact I was addressing.

I don't really care about the poll very much one way or the other.

Seems funny that someone said six people voted.

Great democratic process! The democratic rule of apathy!

LOL.

Tim -

It's just a list on , with maybe ten regular posters.

It's not a country.

so you do find that you like what the majority does huh?

shirking responsibility.

you must find it fashionable.

you jumped right on board and didn't vote.

very equalizing and democratic of you dabbo.

i don't care one way or the other or another or no way either...

about your being lazy and not voting.

but as you say..

it's funny!

baba means your not voting....

and admitting that its the majority thing to do (by not doing)...

is hilarious coming from a kid who says..

majority rule is Mob rule..

and just look at the mess it's gotten this country in etc. etc.

you want to call the kettle black...and burn the pot AST.

any lame explanation on a calm day hey dab.

LOL!

so that's why you like being dictated to.

besides the lazy thing that is.

it's because it's just a group.

and only a few are involved..

i see..

only a comparative few needed to be killed for a final solution..

so to solve the " problems " of just a..

relatively small European country..

like that huh dabbo?

any excuse in on a lazy day or in a lazy lifetime huh?

it always starts small doesn't it.

all that needs to be done is to follow orders.

democratic processes are so bothersome eh?

let's just play kiss ass with our leaders.

we can match our noses to our shirts..brown forever.

it's the fun and easy way to go.

and maybe if we come across as real good boys and girls..

we can get what we want.

oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy!

process. That is OK.

pssst..

geo..

dan doesn't know what he means to say.

he just says anything and hopes for the best.

he thinks that somewhere somehow..

someone will think he's actually said something meaningful.

and if they say so he'll congratulate them on how smart they are..

and if they point out that he hasn't said anything meaningful at all..

he'll just change a few words around..

say that he didn't say what he said..

shoot some more bullshit..

and hope that some of it stick somewhere..

and that someone can explain to him what it means..

and when they do he'll agree with them and say how smart they are..

and then he'll shoot some more buckshot and hope for the best..

and if someone agrees and explains what they agree with he'll......

well you get the drift i'm sure.

You think that's what got this country in a mess.

Maybe you should take time off from this list and read some history books, bub.

Not so unusual for a ... hundreds or thousands of 'lurkers', with

only a few regular posters.

True.

Then again, any situation with " the many " , and " the few at the top " could be

considered a situation of 'governance'.

No choice, really... is set up that way.
