There is a tendency to underestimate the power of attachment, which is the distortion of awareness. Attachment is existence in time, craving for certain kinds of experience, fear of certain kinds of experience, wanting an established way of being, wanting security. Some people learn to talk nondualese, some people are outgoing and attract followers. But none of that equals nonattachment, which is also nondivision. We can talk on and on about Nis., other related teachers and teachings, our own awareness, etc., etc., etc. People will say things like " there is no division, " " there is no separate self or other, " and so on. All of this is on the surface. Depth of understanding won't result from any of this talk, most of which is chatter, noise. The most that this talk can do is suggest, or alert to possibility. That is about it. - D -

Yup. For example, I always get 'suspicious' when folks vehemently say stuff like " nondoership doesn't mean doing nothing! " or " some people believe nonduality means abandoning the world! " , etc. It shows a fear of nothing, a fear of losing one's personal world. > Some people learn to talk nondualese, some people are outgoing and > attract followers. > > But none of that equals nonattachment, which is also nondivision. Indeed so. Actual nonattachment seems rare, at least according to what can be determined by what people say.

Well, not exactly from this to that. People are trying to get from where they are to something else. What is it to dissolve as never having been there in the first place? The term " illusion " is used. An illusion never was there, although was " believed in " by billions, because it seemed so convincing. A very convincing illusion, along with associated delusion. Never was there in the first place. The beliefs in it were just an attempt to keep energy focused on something that energy never could really keep focused on. - D -

Thus, there is no periphery of any one or any thing. With no outside to anything, there is no touching of one thing with another. No touching means: no romance, no joining, no togetherness - no conflict, no separation, no enmity This may be called " love " because there is no rejection or antagonism - but it is utterly different than what commonly is understood as " love " - which is attraction, wanting, and needing. This may be called " peace " because there is no conflict or dissatisfaction - but it is utterly different than what is commonly understood as " peace " - which only is a lull in the fighting, a temporary oasis of calmness in the storm, a time when conflict abates for a while ...
