Guest guest
Dear Whoever, In the book (Consciousness and the Absolute) Nisargadatta seems to be saying that having awareness of the self is temporary by saying that beingness is related to the body. I don't think this makes much sense because Nisargadatta says to not identify ourselves with the body. If we don't identify ourselves with the body,As Nisargadatta said we should not do, and yet say that beingness or awareness comes from the body then how is that useful? Nisargadatta seems to be implying that we die when the body dies or we still exsist after the body is gone. He gives double meanings by using the same wprds in different ways. So...which is it? According to Nisargadatta we are either of the body and will die with the body or we will still exsist after the form of the body passes away. Ho does it help in any way for a person not to identify with the body if they're very awareness of themselves,as awareness, is to be snuffed out when the body dies? This almost sounds like one should not meditate, should not go into the absolute, because if beingness, consciousness, or self awareness is time bound and dies then what is the point in attempting to merge with what some call the absolute if that experience is not an eternal one? If there is such a thing called " The absolute " and it is us because he says " You are that " then that can only mean that you and me as the experiencer will never die because you are that and I am that. If I had no awareness after my body passed away then there is no such thing as " The absolute " because there would be no being of awareness to experience " The absolute " and you know this to be true that we can experience " THE ABSOLUTE " because we have been in that silent state of presence of " I AM " . So...if we are " That " and the nature of the " Absolute " is eternal then self awareness and beingness are eternal and not of the body. To say that my beingness or anybody elses beingness is of the body is to equate the " Absolute " with the body because " YOU " who are the " I AM " are indeed the " Eternal " . You cannot " Merge " with what you already are.... " The Absolute " , but you can make yourself think that you are not the " Absolute " ...you can make yourself think that you are not the " I AM " . The real truth is that you have more power than you think because you are the " I AM " . You decide whether you as an individual will remain exsisting even after the body has passed into dust. If you decide that you are an illusion and that you are not permanent then you are not " I AM " and you have no connection with " The Absolute " nor can you merge with it, but to say that you as an individual, and everyone else and their beingness, are of the body and an illusion is to say that you and every other experiencer are not eternal or of the " Absolute " . You are either the one or the other and you cannot be both. You are either a single individualized _expression of the absolute eternal " ONE " exsisting forever as you please or you are a being that will loose self beingness " Self Awareness/Consciousness " and be no more because without an experiencer there is no experience and with no experience of being conscious there is no witness to be aware of self awareness of which the " I AM " or " Absolute is " . Yes, we are not urine, but each one of us as an individual consciouness are not an illusion either. Who would make a pious claim that the witness who experiences the inner silence to know " I AM " or the absolute is an illusion himself?!!!! To say that is all together an illusion is to say that there is no reason to even begin meditation or knowing the " I AM " or " The Absolute " . Listen...really try and trust your own knowing within!!! Does it make sense to meditate or know what Nisargadatta calls the " I AM " or to do what he calls merging with " The Absolute " if the very beingness and self aware idividual that you know yourself to be is going to not be aware of it'self or yourself ever again? Think about that. My experience in my years of meditation says that we are each a an eternal single individualized _expression of " The Absolute " and that just as in many scripyures around the world say " We are in the Image of the Absolute!!!! If we are born from the absolute and are in it's image then we have all it's qualities by infinite metaphysical sympathetic, interdimensional powers and energies. I experience the Absolute as a void of infinite potentiality that births us and everything else and to experince it within is to be of it's vibrational rate which is.... that which comes from being in the now and " I AM " of inner silence. My name is John and I am now 89 years of age about to permanently leave my body conciously. I have been able to leave my body at will since I was 7 years of age and I know that we shall always be unless we decide not to be. You are free do be forever and to develope all your powers and overcome the chaos laws of nature or free to not do this We can either remain a seperate individualized _expression of the absolute being connected to the all or we can permanently merge with the absolute to become apart of the natural forces and energies of chaos and structure/order. Just as Neo said in that futuristic movie called the Matrix " What you do next is up to you " . What Nisargadatta said and what his guru said had some great lessons within, but we should never halt to the words of anyone else not even to mine, but instead we should experiment with various modes of meditation to see what is and what is not until the day of our bodies pass into dust. For anyone to teach that there is only one truth is fallacy because that person from the start takes the position of authority over the student and keeps the student from ever knowing whatever else could be known. Any person who says that their words are more true than anothers are stunting the growth of the one seeking even my own words to you. It should be enough to reveal to a student the various ways and modes of mediation so that they can discover for themselves what is true becuase whatever else we here from outside of ourselves is subjective conjecture....even what I have said in the lines further above. John, Age:89 By shifting my attention within and around my body I have attained control of my energy body and can stir my way to where I wish to be out of the body. Wish me a good trip to wherever I may go.
