Dear Lewis,

I don't know, what you mean by the above paragraph. Do you mean, what

I said hurt you.

That was certainly not my intention. Though, I am ware that that what

I said had possibility to hurt.

As I mentioned earlier, however honest, it was still only

my `opinion' and it is possible that I was completely wrong, Right On

or somewhere in the middle. If you wish, you can tell (us) which one

it is.

Communication usually has two parts – speaker and the audience. When,

I (the audience in this case) say, …I don't understand what (or

why), you are communicating or that I think, you are just talking for

the sake of talking. It can be either, because, you are really

communicating that way but it can be also because …I am not able

to `get' what you are communicating. Or, it can be mixture of the two.

Either way, I think, I should let you know of that and there is

no `intended' harm or hurt as long as I can do it without any malice

or ill motive.

At minimum, it is a feedback on how you communication " comes across "

at least to `one person'. It might be Real (as in you are Really

doing it). It might be how it appears to most but you are not really

doing it. Or, it might be a problem, impression that Only I have.

The `symptom' that I talk about is in No way unique. This seems to be

a common communication trait and a major difference in how two

genders (males and females) communicate. Males `supposedly' mostly

communicate to solve problems, devise plans, strategy, reach

conclusions, and gather information. Females `supposedly' mostly talk

as just a way to … " feel as being together " .

I have many times gotten in trouble with my wife, on this ground

alone and It still requires me `many' internal reminders to know that

…my wife is just complaining, criticizing. However, she is NOT really

interested in solving any of these problems or really changing any of

the things she is complaining about. She likes complaining or

sometimes, talking and these are the things she has chosen to

exercise her complaining on and I am the chosen audience at the

moment. " What she talks about " , " what she complains about " and " to

whom she talks or complains " are NOT really that important. What is

REALLY important is that " she gets to complain or talk " . I still make

major mistakes in fully adjusting to this reality.

With warm regards,

ac.
