Guest guest
>> Is there anything beyond thoughts ? Is this a test or is this an honest question ? If it is an honest question, it implies that ...you are NOT aware of anything beyond thoughts. How will a reply from someone else help you understand it then ? You will try to translate it into you vocabulary ( into what you know ) and thereby, I either completely miss it, misunderstand or misinterpret it. >> Is there anything beyond thoughts ? There are two ways to know it. One is inquiring and investigating it on your part and finding it out DIRECTLY, by yourself. Second way is intellectual and it involves ... " trust " , " respect " , " humility " , " acceptance " that might even border on the lines of " faith " , " devotion " , " Bhakti " . You ask someone whom you trust, respect to be truthful, honest, sincere and possibly knowing ... " what you don't know " . You then, mostly accept what such a person says to you. As this experience is not yet in your domain, you have no real way to approve and disprove it. You trust this person, you trust him/her to know and be truthful about it. In such a case, you accept his/her answer. Such a person that you trust, respect to know and to be honest, truthful and well-meaning in telling you what he/she knows is also called ...guru ? Do you have such respect for the person you are asking this question, Lewis ? Would you respect and accept his/her answer, as ...it is an area that you yet don't know ?
