?AL:I came up with the idea of infinite intelligence by extrapolating what

J. Krishnamurti called the awakening of intelligence. Eckhart Tolle

also talks about awakening of intelligence, a form of intelligence

that operates both from within a person and also at the same time

operates in the world, and that both the inner and the outer

intelligence are the same intelligence in action. If that is true,

then it must indeed be a great intelligence that can hold all

particles in the universe with such precision and simultaneously

operate within a person as the same intelligence. That is for me

mind-boggling, so incredible that I call this intelligence infinite

intelligence. But all I have as a ground for this idea is words from

sages, and the fact that the intelligence that holds all particles in

synch creating for example a bird is impressive.

==Joyce: I rather think it's your own infinite intelligence

recognizing itself. This is mirrored in the words of sages

and we recognize the truth indirectly by inference. Just ordinary

mind freed from conditioning. A type of knowing, original wakefulness,

not tied up with seeing the present in terms of subject and object,

me and mine.

So, one could observe how the knowing is. Is it tied up with

subect and object momentarily, or is there no holding on to

subject and object in the moment. Sometimes yes, sometimes

no. Knowing isn't a function of ego, its a natural quality of mind

in the same way that water is wet. " Ego " can also mean " owner " but

intelligence functions without the need to own anything. When

there is nothing in this universe but intelligence, what is

there you don't already own?

If one followed the instructions to OBSERVE, one might see

that when one actually looks for this " me " or " I " what we find

is mind. And its this knowing quality we mis-label " me " .

When the knowing quality is misconstrued it becomes " me " .

When it is understood as just being what it is, then it is

called intelligence, a pervasive, spacious, lively quality

ever present and our cognizant nature is indivisible from

the basic dimension of spaciousness. Can ANYTHING exist apart

from your knowing of it?

When we learn of the story of the illusion of the rope and snake,

or hear that the world is like a dream, it means that it seemingly

exists without actually existing; it is mere appearance. There is

somebody with a name doing his thing, but at the same time it is

possible that there is no entity whatsoever. Yet at the same time he

is here. Very magical! Without truly existing, things still seem to

exist in this magical way. The reason for this is because of the

empty essence of mind and its cognizant, intelligent nature.

The yardstick for samsara is that everything is measured from

me-here-now. Not a me of the past or future but the moment to

moment feeling that I am. Everything is measured from that -above

me, below me, to the left and right of me. But if we look into that

present, what is it? Do we find anything? Can one observe directly

the awareness, the knowing quality of mind?

But you can gather everything, whatever it is, from all directions,

into the present moment, then drop the present and see what happens.

What do you observe when you drop everything? If you follow

one thought, such as " Who am I " ? from its beginning through to

it's end, where does it come from and where does it go?

Namaste,

Joyce
