Guest guest
I listened to Eckhart Tolle and he said that it is possible to see in a person's eyes whether he or she is fully present or is in some degree lost in thinking. I was thinking, " wow, is that really possible to notice? Would he be able to notice if I am present or not? " But that is perhaps not so difficult. It is easy to see when a person is _totally_ lost in thought; the person looks straight ahead with a sort of blank stare - looking, but actually not being consciously aware of anything through the senses, because 100% of all awareness is trapped in thinking. When you talk to a person, you might be able to detect how much awareness that person uses for thinking about the next thing to say, for evaluating what you have said according to his or her past memories in the form of experiences and knowledge, for making up strategies how to hide certain facts or feelings, for thinking about what to say and what not to say, e t c, e t c. This could also be a practice to see how much awareness that goes to thinking in oneself, for example during conversations with people and when taking a walk alone. /AL
