Disciple: Master, what is the future?

 

Master: The future is what will come to happen.

 

D: Is it possible to see into the future?

 

M: Yes, the world is mapped in a precise image readily seen by all

those who have eyes to see.

 

D: But I can't see into the future.

 

M: This is because you are blinded by your own ideas about the future.

 

D: You mean, if I let my own ideas about the future go, then the real

future will become apparent to me?

 

M: If you let your images about the future go you will see no future

at all.

 

D: Why can't I see the future as it is?

 

M: Because you and the future are forever separated.

 

D: Ok, but I can at least change the future.

 

M: No, you can't.

 

D: Why?

 

M: Because you cannot do anything.

 

D: I can do many things.

 

M: Only in your mind my young apprentice, only in your mind.

 

D: But the mind is the world, they are one and the same.

 

M: Yes, but you are not the creator of your mind.

 

D: Then, who is the creator of my mind.

 

M: There is no creator.

 

D: ?

 

M: The world is.
