Guest guest
Can there possibly be " separation " and subsequent dissolving? Can there possibly be attachment? If there is no " one " to be attached, how can there possibly be any attachment? If there is no " one " to experience separation, how can there possibly be separation? Are separation and attachment like the horns of a hare? It seems that separation is only " apparent " . It seems that apparent separation arises out of attachment. Does that mean that attachment is " real " ? No, attachment is not real. When attachment is " realized " as not real " something happens " . What happens? Attachment is the sense " I am " . " Realization " is realization of the inherent emptiness of the " sense 'I am' " . On realization of the inherent emptiness of the " sense 'I am' " , the sense " I am " dissolves, much like mist melting in the sun. Hence, there never was any " one " to be attached. There never was any separation. The only attachment there ever was is the sense " I am " , and that attachment was unreal. Somehow there is a distinction here between " what is " and " what is unreal " . Any " 'one' to be attached " and separation never were. The " sense 'I am' " was always unreal. What is the relation between " to be " and " to be unreal " ? " To be unreal " seems to entail " to be " . However the *existence* of the " sense 'I am' " was evanescent. It never existed in any *real* sense. Bill

So what we know as separation, isn't ever really separate. Our separations aren't divisions, or, if you prefer, what divides doesn't separate. Thus, dissolving and coming together are not-two. -- Dan > Can there possibly be attachment? > > If there is no " one " to be attached, how > can there possibly be any attachment? > > If there is no " one " to experience separation, > how can there possibly be separation? > > Are separation and attachment like the horns > of a hare? > > It seems that separation is only " apparent " . > It seems that apparent separation arises out > of attachment. > > Does that mean that attachment is " real " ? > > No, attachment is not real.
