some say love, it is a river of consciousness

some say love is roving your boat in the middle of emptiness.

some say love is like the river wind that sings through the hallow

reed.

some say love, it is a river that drowns

the tender reed.

some say love, it is the devotional hunger,

an endless aching need for the Beloved.

some say love is the nondual dream, afraid of waking,

that never takes a chance.

Way cool!

Right on Bro!

And I say love is the nondual dream

smashed to smithereens by the

Big Bear Within.

Yeah! :)))

Christ answered: " I am the truth. " Which reads: 'I am' is the first

truth. Without first being , there is no other truth. So yeah, truth

is a question about being. A question that has no other answer, but,

be!

According to the Buddhist sage Tina Turner, love is a 'second hand

emotion.' We love what pleases us, what is ours, or is like us. Your

genes command you love your children. To help another without feeling

any emotional reward, without caring for consequences, to care and

help because it is part of the situation, without following any

charitable blue print, that is metta.

Love is a central notion to Nisargadatta, but it is not

a notion he uses in his teaching a lot. Rather, it is

what is the *outcome* of realization. The following

quotes illustrate what I mean...

Bill

Wisdom tells me I am nothing.

Love tells me I am everything.

And between the two my life flows.

When you realize that you are the light of

the world, you will also realize that you are

the love of it; that to know is to love and

to love is to know.

I simply followed (my teacher's) instruction

which was to focus the mind on pure being 'I

am', and stay in it. I used to sit for hours

together, with nothing but the 'I am' in my

mind and soon peace and joy and a deep all-

embracing love became my normal state. In it

all disappeared -- myself, my Guru, the life

I lived, the world around me. Only peace

remained and unfathomable silence.

First of all, establish a constant contact

with your self, be with yourself all the

time. Into self-awareness all blessings flow.

Begin as a centre of observation, deliberate

cognizance, and grow into a centre of love in

action. 'I am' is a tiny seed which will grow

into a mighty tree -- quite naturally,

without a trace of effort.

And here is another quote from Maharaj on love:

Do not pretend that you love others as yourself. Unless you have

realized them as one with yourself, you cannot love them. Don't

pretend to be what you are not, don't refuse to be what you are. Your

love of others is the result of self-knowledge, not its cause.

Without self-realization, no virtue is geniune. When you know beyond

all doubting that the same life flows through all that is and you

arethat life, you will love all naturally and sponataneously. When

you realize the dept and fullness of your love of yourself, you know

thatevery living being and the entire universe are included in your

affection. But when you look at anything as separate from you, you

cannot love it for you are afraid of it. Alienation causes fear and

fear deepens alienation. It is a vicious circle. Only self-

realization can break it. Go for it resolutely.

So yeah, truth is a question about being. A question that has no

other answer, but, be!

Yeah, Pete! :-)) How inmensly releaving it is, to live the question.

It has no borders, no frontiers, limitations or confinements. To be

the question is freedom here and now...moment by moment. We did

nothing else before we were born and we will do nothing else after

leaving the realm of answers. Why should a body & mind disfigure

that?

sk

Life is inherently uncertain.

To be alive is to thrill with the vibrant edge of uncertainty.

LOL... : ))

Answering that is a tall order, actually.

Briefly, when the mind lets go of its craving for certainty,

and we melt back into the moment, the Now... the shimmering,

edgeless borderless vibrancy of life begins to dance again.

And this is the Dance of Shiva...yes?

In this dance we have no *control*. We are surrendered into

the movement that sparkles in Presence. It is simple, it is open,

it is alive, it is the innocence of a child.

It is to the *mind* that uncertainty is a threat. But in the

innocence of a child uncertainty is simply openness, adventure,

freedom.
