she politely accepts the invitation because she's looking for some

conversation and not really interested in my " collection of nondual

quote " cards. i wanted to show them to her so badly. the cards are

in the drawer somewhere and i just cannot shake the temptation to

pretend and adapt the mannerism of a guru wannabe with her.

" you are That, " i said in a serious tone.

" so what? " she said with a smile.

right. she is only interested in coffee and conversation while i'm

hoping for more.

Oh my goodness. This is funny.

Thanks for the giggle and the illusionary visions that ran through my mind

as I read it.

the head can be off just under the chin where you feel a tickle of breath that, as soon as it's noticed, you find yourself without yourself, headless, no 'quotes', no nisergadatta, nothing but what's breathing a headless oneSharlene <sharlene wrote:

Consider what happens when a stone is thrown up. It leaves

its source and is projected up, tries to come down and is always

in motion until it regains its source, where it is at rest. So also

the waters of the ocean evaporate, form clouds which are moved

by winds, condense into water, fall as rain and the waters roll

down the hill in streams and rivers, until they reach their original

source, the ocean, reaching which they are at peace. Thus, you

see, wherever there is a sense of seperateness from the source

there is agitation and movement until the sense of seperateness

is lost. So it is with yourself.

To identify oneself with the body and yet to seek happiness is

like attempting to cross a river on the back of an alligator.

-Sri Ramana Maharshi

from Talks

It is the instinct of exploration, the love of the unknown, that

brings me into existence. It is in the nature of being to see

adventure

in becoming, as it is in the very nature of becoming to seek

peace in being. This alternation of being and becoming is

inevitable: but my home is beyond.

To disidentify oneself from the body to seek happiness

is like forgetting that you're a bird crossing the river

on the back of an alligator.

And this constipation of being and becoming is

unenjoyable, but my home is free flowing.

No matter which way I turn.....where ever I look......whatever I

try............I am lost...................There is nothing I can do.

I can't think my way out of this.

I can't meditate my way out of this.

I can't pray myself out of this.

(probably because there is no " I " ........and no this)

Yes, Hur, and like a laxative,

it all depends on how you take it,

not overrelying on it, and

letting it go when it's done its job.
