To me:

Awareness is prior to consciousness.

There is no directing of awareness, awareness just is.

Attention pertains to consciousness.

That was a question I had a while back but feared to ask as not to

look stupid. Who is directing awareness? If awareness is prior to

consciousness then what directs awareness or is it that awareness

just is and consciousness focuses attention? Are attention and

awareness different?
