Guest guest
My question is very simple, “Who gets enlightened?” Or to put it the other way around, who suffers? Isn’t all this seeking, love, god, etc. just another game? My story starts and continues only when I am conscious. In deep sleep when there is awareness without consciousness … there is no I, and no world. [Most of us, most of the time, forget this awareness during deep sleep as soon as we wake up and our story begins!] Only when there is an “I”, there is spirituality, seeking etc. However those of us who have had a glimpse of the non-dual reality know that this “I” is a fabrication. It is just the ego or mind. So I conclude that the benefits of enlightenment are for the mind and thus really of no consequence. Which is why, for example, Buddhism is more psychology than religion. Perhaps all this spirituality will be part of the psychology syllabus in the future! [And, as for religion, it will be in the dust bin] my unenlightened opinion, Jan
