Rob. And the funny thing is, there aren't any better results with that than other ways, such as prayer, chanting, reading texts, going on nature walks, doing nothing. Because anything done, anything known -- is something done, is something known. If you know you're doing nothing, it's still something known. If you know you're being silent, it's still something known. There's no way for you to get there from here, it can't possibly work like that. A finite limited being can't be that which contains the universe that it breathes, experiences, and moves in (shades of Ecclesiastes). There's no way to get where you already are -- and saying you already are there, is about the least useful thing anyone does. A lot of sages, including Ramana, say that ultimately, the only obstacle is you, and your belief that there is somewhere for you to get, something for you to have. How do I release the obstacle that is I? So, Ramana says, inquire into this I. Why not -- anyone doing this will be one less crack addict, presumably. Keeps them out of trouble and off the street.
