And the desire has to be there, which I find is what most people lack in the first place. The desire to actually go beyond themselves isn't there. As an entertainment perhaps, but not really. It's not really what people want. People are just looking to be comfortable, to pleasure themselves. And that kind of mediocrity doesn't cut it. > > But as far as how long it actually takes, I would say that for a mature person who is prepared, shouldn't take more than a couple years of intense work. Sorry, all nonsense. *This* happens in spite of me, not because of me. I would say that nothing I studied or did availed anything, except maybe as preparation for the inconceivable. It has nothing to do with a certain amount of years of study, nor what you studied, except insofar as your studying prepared you to be opened in a way you can't study for. *This* is not passing the final exam of a period of study. You prepare for the inconceivable, but when it opens you -- it opens you in a way that doesn't fit at all any expectations or ideas you built up from the words, teachings, presence of others. And it doesn't open you because of your preparation or study, but only because it could be no other way. *This* has nothing whatsoever to do with sitting and believing you can get it overnight. It has nothing at all do do with any of your beliefs or activities. You don't get to have any say in this whatsoever. It is neither gradual nor sudden, it is immediate and total. Timeless, yet inclusive of all time/space. -- Dan

It's not about " information gained " .
