My hope for a silver lining is that we may finally get cooperation of many other nations to fight terrorism, that they will see that it is a world problem. We cannot effectively deal with terrorists by ourselves. There are too many places for them to hide. My other hope is that we will finally be willing to admit and confront Israel when its national interest conflicts with ours. Our inability to do so has unnecessarily made us an enemy to Arabs. That, of course, is a very difficult issue, since there are rights on both sides. But now, instead of being " an honest broker " , we are participants in any Middle East peace process, as is Europe. I don't think this is going to happen. Especially after yesterday, this is not going to happen.
