Guest guest
Hi Leaf, Trees have great power, don't they? The feeling of God lies around them. I was enormously attracted to them as a child. I knew each tree in my backyard as a friend; had memorized all their branches and the textures of their bark. Little boys love to climb trees. It hurts, you know. The bark is scratchy and you have to squeeze your arms and legs against it. Sometimes we'd get bloody, but we never cared. Maybe it's always like that when God hugs you. I found out tonight that my sister has breast cancer. My baby sister who is now 45. Seems like only yesterday she had no breasts at all, and now the damn things are already malfunctioning. I thought to myself, she's probably worried that her children will be upset, because God is in her and she'll think first of her children. So I sent an e-mail saying her children will probably surprise her with their strength. That thought occurred to me because God is in me too. And what I said is probably true because God is in the kids as well. Funny to think of God when bad news comes. A famous dead playwright named Aeschylus once wrote a play about a hero named Prometheus who infuriates God by placing blind hopes in people so they no longer know their deaths are coming. We must infer from this God wants people to know their deaths are coming. Presumably this is the reason why God created needle biopsies. Well Leaf, this letter probably doesn't make much sense. Doesn't matter. It's just a long-winded way of saying that I like trees too. Your friend, Rob - Joe0464 Realization Tuesday, August 21, 2001 11:44 PM meditating with nature Hi everyone, I have found that it is good to meditate with nature, in other words, outside, mayd leaning against a tree, trying to communicate with the tree, or something like that. It is also good to release anger. It works! I don't know why I put this, it is just want I think. If you like meditating with trees, you should read " The Celestine Prophecy " by James Redfield. While on the subject of books, " Conversations with God " series also gave me a lot of food for thought. By the way Rob, your site has been a great help to me. ______________________ With Love, Cyber Dervish ````````````````````````````````````````
Guest guest
Hi, The only bad thing is that in the winter time, I won't be able to meditate by a tree. The poor trees. I feel bad for them sometimes, I am very sensative to them now. Blessed be Leaf
Guest guest
> Hi Leaf, > > Trees have great power, don't they? Someone named Leaf should particularly appreciate that. I have a redwood outside one window of my bedroom-study and an elm outside the other. They make a nourishing male-female pair from which I daily draw sustenance. My home, Walnut Creek, is very rich in many kinds of trees, which deeply nourish me when I drive the city streets. Rocks have a similar power. They say so clearly, I am what I am. Rob, I hope your sister's misfortune may be the door that leads her and her family more deeply within themselves, to home. Gary
Guest guest
Hi Gary, Thanks very much. Trying to cheer my sister up, I reminded her that our father always said that his heart attack at age 36 (which nearly killed him) turned out to be a good thing because it made him more aware of the things that really matter in life. But unfortunately (?) this really doesn't apply because my sister is a lot wiser in that respect than our father was. > Rob, I hope your sister's misfortune may be the door that leads her and her > family more deeply within themselves, to home.
