Guest guest
Dear Teresa, After I saw this note from you, I decided to feature a book about Tantra on today's front page on the website. Thanks for the suggestion. What makes you pick Tantra? Something special about it that's calling you? I don't know a whole lot about Tantra, but that didn't stop me from writing a short reference page as well, which I put here: http://www.realization.org/page/topics/tantra.htm I probably made a lot of mistakes on this page, but I've asked several people who know more than me to check it this morning, and hopefully anything really stupid will be fixed within a few hours. If anybody has suggestions for improving it or criticisms, I'd love to hear them. And things I should add -- links, books, etc. That goes for the whole website, actually. Guest guest
Well, you might ask, why do you come to this site at this point in time? I wish to open myself to new experience, expand my consciousness, and eliminate self-deception. I view tantric philosophy as one possible avenue to these goals. Are there other areas which you feel might be more fruitful? Thank you for highlighting tantra on the webpage. I will visit it today. Kindest regards, Teresa
Guest guest
Hi Teresa, > I wish to open myself to new experience, expand my consciousness, and > eliminate self-deception. Oh, I didn't mean to suggest that, not at all. Tantra could be perfect for you. I was just wondering what you already knew about it that you are finding appealing. Different things appeal to different people, etc. There are so many nice things about it -- ritual; magic; rootedness in the body; kundalini, acceptance of experience; initiation and guru's grace; bond between disciple and guru... And it's aesthetically gorgeous -- chanting, paintings, yantras. It's definitely the path of choice for people who like theater! And within Tantra there are many avenues, many choices, many traditions, ranging from the highly organized approach of Tibetan Buddhism to the crazy weirdness of Hindu Aghori sects (who carry human skulls and eat bits of corpses). > Thank you for highlighting tantra on the webpage. I will visit it today. You're welcome. If you think it needs something more, or something else, to be useful to you, please let me know.
