Guest guest
Sri Narasimha garu, Namaskaram. I intend to perform "Aksharabhyasam" ceremony to my Kid on Vijayadashimi day. Before the actual ritual i'm planning to seek the blessings of Saraswathi Devi by invoking her in the Homam. Can you please guide me how can i invoke her and seek her blessings with any specific Mantra? Can i pefrom this ritual on the the Day with "Moola" nakshatram instead of Vijaya Dashimi? Thanks KK
Guest guest
Narasimha has earlier helped me do this. Once I go home, I will try to search for my notes and write. In case, I fail to do so, feel free to call me (9840959887) if you are in India. Guest guest
Namaste KK, Use aim, kleem and sauH as beeja, shakti and keelaka. Repeat the same 3 beejas for anga and kara nyaasas. For dhyaana, you can pick any verse of Saraswati. For example, here is one small verse written by Kaalidaasa: shaaradaa shaaradaambhoja vadanaa vadanaambuje sarvadaa sarvadaasmaakam sannidhiH sannidhiH kriyaat Each word is repeated twice with two different meanings above. Kaalidaasa is a gifted poet. He was an illiterate ignoramus who turned into a great scholar when the Mother appeared and blessed. There is something outworldly in his poetic expressions. Another popular dhyaana shloka for Saraswati is: sarasvati namastubhyam varade kaamarUpiNi vidyaaraMbhaM kariShyaami siddhirbhavatu me sadaa There are many more. Pick the one you like. After panchopachara pooja, do pradhaana homam with any Saraswati mantra you like. I will give some options below. I am using iTrans notation below. You can cut & paste it in ITranslator software to see mantras in Sanskrit with Vedic intonation marked. First mantra is a simple naama mantra with beeja added. Second mantra is a Gayatri mantra from Rigveda. Third one has beejas added. (1) om aim sarasvatyai namaH svaahaa\'' (2) OM praNo\'' de\_vI sara\'svatI\_ vaaje\''bhirvaa\_jinI\''vatI. dhI\_naama\'vi\_trya\'vatu.. svaahaa\''. Yes, Moola nakshatra during this month is considered auspicicous for praying to Saraswati. Guest guest
Namaskaar, Moola Nakshatra is ruled by mokshakaraka Ketu in the Vimshottari scheme and its devata is Nrriti who is considered demonic; similar to Alakshmi. Is there a connection between Saraswati and Moola Nakshatra ? Regards Veenu , Narasimha PVR Rao <pvr wrote: > > Namaste KK, > > Use aim, kleem and sauH as beeja, shakti and keelaka. Guest guest
Namaste, Yes, this is not a Saraswati mantra, but Hayagreeva mantra. Hayagreeva is a horse-headed form of Vishnu who gives higher learning. When Vijay was doing aksharabhyasam to his daughter, I had suggested making offerings to five deities representing five aspects of learning corresponding to five elements - Ganapathi, Saraswati, Medha Devi (deity of intelligence), Medha Dakshinamurthy (teacher form of Shiva) and Hayagreeva. While there are various mantras for each (e.g. Medha sooktam for Medha Devi), the following are simple naama mantras. Guest guest
Hello, Thanks. When I was very young I found this shloka in Kalyan, and used to recite it a lot. I was able to pass my school exams. Then after few months I had to come to London and my life changed completely. And I lost the plot.Several years later I was living in a ashram in Vrajbhoomi and the next door Swamiji who was nearly 100 had a very powerful Lord Sri Hayagreavji in Shaligram. Swamiji wanted to make me his chela and give the ashram to me. But I refused both. Then certain things happened where I was living and I had to move with Swamiji. In a way with Lord. Then again I had to leave that place after some months and come back to LondonIn last few years I tried few times to start the worship of Lord Sri Hayagreavji for knowledge/vidya but each time I was blocked. So I thought Mother knows best and so stopped.Although there was this question in my mind why Loving Lord is unhappy with me , what mistake I have made.Composing this letter I suddenly realised that each time I do the intense worship of Lord there is very big change in life and perhaps it is not a time to do it.Another problem solved.ThanksLaxmiNarayan--- On Sun, 27/9/09, Narasimha PVR Rao <pvr wrote:Narasimha PVR Rao <pvr Re: Invoking Saraswathi devi in Homam Cc: "Laxmi Narayan" <shrijishrihariSunday, 27 September, 2009, 3:11 AMNamaste, Yes, this is not a Saraswati mantra, but Hayagreeva mantra.
