Guest guest
Namaste, Very good and all the best! (1) Akshatas and flowers can be thrown away in trash. (2) Ash of havan is ideally collected for a while and then thrown in a river or ocean when you accumulate a good amount. One can also bury it in one's house, but the best is to distribute it to Nature by throwing in flowing water. (3) You can give it animals or birds. If not, just throw it in trash. Guest guest
Namaste to all, 1) While doing homam can we go on adding coconut pieces as we like(whenever i feel the material in the kund is less) or it has to be added only when we say SWAHA 2) Can i add ghee after i do purnahuti because then i will be sure that it will get burned , otherwise some pieces remain. 3) Does it matter how i keep that piece of coconut , which i kept in the kund for PURNAHUTI, i mean ,the part6 thats cut upside or towards down. Hope this question is clear. You can add ghee/coconut pieces any time, even if you are not saying Swaha. > 2) Can i add ghee after i do purnahuti because then i will be sure that it will get burned , otherwise some pieces remain. Vijay: Yes. No problem. BTW, if any pieces are not burnt fully, do not bother about them. It is alright. Imagine as if you were serving the guess with some sweets. You will like if they eat them fully but, if they leave some amount you wouldn't mind right? Leaving some does not mean your guess did not appreciate your gesture. > 3) Does it matter how i keep that piece of coconut , which i kept in the kund for PURNAHUTI, i mean ,the part6 thats cut upside or towards down. Hope this question is clear. Vijay: No, it does not matter. If you keep the dark color up, it burns longer easily. Other than convenience how you keep does not really matter much. How ever, try to imagine the purnahuti is your own igo/identification. Guest guest
Namaste, 1)What should be done with the pieces of coconuts that remain after the homam.Shall i flow them in the water or use them again in the next homam?? 2)And sometimes the pieces are neither too hard nor too soft.If i apply a little effort they get crushed easliy. So, How to deal with them please clarify. Guest guest
1) If the coconut pieces are not burn fully, I usually use them the next day along with fresh coconut pieces to get a slightly bigger fire than my usual. As far I know it is not a problem. As Narasimha suggested, if you are doing homam for spiritual progress and not for material benefit, it is like serving our parents - God will not mind if we do some mistake due to our ignorance. 2) You can treat them as the remaining ash. If you eventually put this in a river, crushing the pieces may be better so that it gets dissolved in waters.
