Namaste all,

Could any one of you clarify the number of ahutis to be offered to Sri Sita Devi and Lord Hanuman (and other associated deities) during a Sri Rama Taraka Homa? We offer 108 ahutis to Lord Rama. Is there a specific number of ahutis for the other Gods?

Thank you.

Namaste,

One aahuti (offering) is sufficient for each. The main mantra of Rama can be offered 28 or 108 or 1008 times.

The following can be used (in ITrans transliteration):

OM siitaayai svaahaa| OM hanumate svaahaa| OM sugriivaaya svaahaa| OM jaambavate svaahaa| OM nalaaya svaahaa| OM niilaaya svaahaa| OM aMgadaaya svaahaa| OM jaTaayave svaahaa| OM vibhiiShaNaaya svaahaa|

OM dasharathaaya svaahaa| OM kausalyaayai svaahaa| OM kaikeyyai svaahaa| OM sumitraayai svaahaa| OM janakaaya svaahaa|

OM lakShmaNaaya svaahaa| OM bharataaya svaahaa| OM shatrughnaaya svaahaa| OM shaantaayai svaahaa| OM R^iShyashR^iMgaaya svaahaa|

OM vasiShThaaya svaahaa| OM vishvaamitraaya svaahaa| OM vaalmiikaye svaahaa|

OM lavaaya svaahaa| OM kushaaya svaahaa|
